I wouldnt reccomend gaming on a laptop but if you must just get the single card or your battery life is gonna be pretty short.

^ Hmm I usually get 2-7 more fps in most games on Vista to XP and I have never had a "Display Driver Has Stopped Responding" error.

Drop the 8800GTS its not a good value anymore. Get a HD 3870 from anyware you can find it. And get Vista 32bit for now. Get this mobo too ASUS Crossfire AM2 580x.

Do what I do:

Buy the parts seperately as everyone suggested as thats a MUCH better deal.

Then go to a store that you can trust best buy or whatever and pay them a bit to assemble it for you.

Dont let best buy do it. The geek squad guys are dumb ****s. Look for a local shop or get one from AVADirect if you dont want to build.

[QUOTE="Blue-Sky"]Well there isn't a single game that can't be maxed out by a 8800GTX and theres always going to be the option to wait til the next stronger card comes out no matter what time of the year it is. Dopemonk736

what about crysis? you try running it at the highest resolution on the highest settings with a stock 8800GTX and get over 30 fps.

When people say they want to play games at reasonable settings we or them just automaticly exclude Crysis.

Well HD3870 driver updates should increase its performance and be more up to par with the 8800GT, so its not all that bad.Montaya
Im actually starting to doubt thats gonna happen. Regardless, its a kick ass card.
