This game was easily THE best game of 2017 bar none. Well, this or BOTW. Take your pick. Bought P5R. Just as good and fun as the vanilla. I'll be playing this while waiting for my delayed copy of FF7R Deluxe. Shotout to Amazon.

If you know anything about game design, you know that RPGs have a variety of elements (much more than other genres do) that makes games fun all wrapped into one package. Designers are realizing this. Look at the God of War remake. Look at AC Origins and Odyssey.

This one's a matter of taste. No right or wrong here. There are plenty of people who actually find it repulsive when main characters talk. My older brother is one of them.

Personally, I prefer to keep up with the times. It's 2019. Chars should be voiced IMO. It gives them personality. But to each their own. It doesn't make or break a game for me. This is an action game made by Platinum folks. That's saying a ton.

I wonder if this is to gauge interest to do a remake of the other games (i.e. FF8, 9, etc.). That would def pull them some BANK.

@Barighm: Yeah, there were definitely glimpses of it back then too. Slowly but surely. I don't think I'll be partaking but who knows. I'm assuming they'll make tons more money if they turn games into a service than what we have now. Or there can be some happy medium for people who prefer gaming to be traditional

Surprised at the comments....This looks like (console) gaming is on the verge of becoming a service...No one sees that?...

No one wants to play a terrible game. This is actually good news.

Lucky enough to have been a gamer for so long that I have played most of these games at their time of release. My opinion? Solid list but they are bugging with 2014. Bayonetta 2 came out in 2014 and that game was absolutely insane, pretty much perfect. Controversy aside, nothing was holding a candle to that game.
