Call Sony and tell them "Ants ate my PSP" and see what they say.

valgear

Haha, I'd love to hear that conversation there...

Another thursday, aaaaannnddd next to nothing. Sony is really leaving the GO owners out in the cold. Maybe it has to do with the rumours of the "re-launch" of the Go and Sony is stockpiling all of the good stuff for a marketing flood. Thoughts?

That's like holding off on a cure for disease X - I they had the titles ready to go, they'd have them up... You don't wait for water to get over the gunwalls before you start bailing...

... and really, if I had some bread I would definitely buy "Silent Hill Shattered Memories", "Afterburner: Black Flacon", "No Gravity: THe Plague of Mind", absolutely "Armored Core: Silent Line Portable", the new "Locke & Key" issue, and I'd continue to get the "Wormwood" series...

... lawdy I hates bein' BROKE...

:P

But there's a lot on the PSN now... perhaps not EVERYTHING you desire, but it's a lot better.

For a relatively new PSP owner, I'm not terribly concerned about the lack of 'great' new games on the PSN...it just gives me more time to get caught up on the older UMD games that I don't already have (which are very numerous, of course). I might pick up Crisis Core this evening if I can find a copy of it...anyway, hopefully next week'll be a bit better as PS1 games go.

Biggest difference for me by far was aiming weapons like the bow and arrow, the slingshot, etc. Wii version is much better in that regard. Other than that, there's no significant difference either way. The mirroring thing between the versions is slightly disorienting, but not so much that it's completely new.

OK, so I got into the battle system, and the game says that there will be little hints that tell you who the enemy will attack, either mario or luigi. My question is, is that important? I mean i counterattack the moment the enemy goes toward me, the little enemy delays a little before attacking, and that seems to be all i need. I never really paid attention to the hints, i just saw the direction the enemy is attacking. Is that all i will need?

It's not all that essential, but helpful. Some enemies that you jump to dodge, you could jump with the two brothers to pull it off, for example. Others you could counterattack with both at the same time. But there's some enemies out there that you'll need to use the hints, because they'll begin to timing his attacks, or attack above you, just in case you try to dodge.

And there are points when certain enemies can attack both bros with one attack, but at separate times because of the nature of the attack, so noting these subtle hints can really save your skin at times.

In the last picture, both link and the stalfos guy are lefties

JuarN18

Simply meaning that it was a picture from the Gamecube version and not Wii. Similarity noted though...

Gamestop has Blue Rescue Team for 5 dollars right now, I think. It only got a 5.6 rating or something like that, but is it worth getting?

[QUOTE="ston3henge"]

I picked up "Blast Off!" tonight after reading some of the comments here and looking at a bit of footage on the youtubes, I've spent about 20 minutes clearing most of the first set of puzzles... essentially what i would say this game is, is a synthesis between Atari's "Lunar Lander" with a little old-school "Space Wars" thrown in. You start with your ship on a planetoid, and several little astronauts spinning in space in some sort of pattern or lay-out, and you blast off (hence the name - there are no guns) and have to navigate various gravity fields and other planets of varying size and gravitational effect with your boosters, and you have limited fuel to get your run completed picking up as many astronauts as you can before heading for the warp gate - a finish line, basically.

The layouts and gravities become more and more complicated as you go along, and various stars are awarded for numbers of rescues, score bonuses given for unused fuel and oxygen (time)... the game keeps the top five scores for each level, and there is a target high score which awards something else but I haven't been able to beat those times yet, so I don't know off hand what they are.

The game has great physics, simple yet nice lighting and particle effects, and a trippy dreamy soundtrack that oozes into your head and stays awhile... I'm LOVIN' this one, and it's only $2.99. I can only imagine when I get the "Insane" set of puzzles unlocked!

Highly recommended!~

SadPSPAddict

Nice review - I'm tempted with that one now :)

Agreed...thanks for the review, Stoney!

You people are all being...wait for it......immature about this. (yeah, I went there) Who buys a game based solely upon its rating? Just because a game has an 'M' rating doesn't automatically make it better or worse than the next game out there. That being evidenced by the fact that GTA sold poorly (by all accounts) and games like Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts (etc...) sell well, and still get great ratings.

BattleTurtles

How does GTA selling poorly make it a bad game?

If you read my whole post, I never said that GTA was a bad game. Just that it being mature rated doesn't make it any better than other games on the system. It sells poorly mostly because of the main audience of the DS, not because it's bad/good, per se.

I am planning on getting a new game soon, but I can't decide between Spirit Tracks or Glory of Heracles.

I recently played Zelda Oracle of Seasons and liked it, but I also played Phantom Hourglass and grew bored very quickly.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

wiidskirby

Go with Spirit Tracks, I'd say. Glory of Heracles seems like just another RPG, and an average one at that. Spirit Tracks fixed most of the major complaints from Phantom Hourglass, and it has some deviously hard dungeons/temples in it. Not to mention the multiplayer's actually pretty cool.
