Blah..Blah...Blah........................... Talk about over-reported. Two weeks without online is hardly a big issue, for starters it's not unheard of because in 2007 Microsoft had issues and took Live down for you guessed it, 2weeks. Plus, there are plenty of great single player and offline multiplayer games around. If you see any strange purchases or get anything which has been linked to your information, research it and cancel it; simple. I find it funny how people are blowing this out of proportion, it's not the first data leak from a company and certainly won't be the last. Stop reporting the same thing phrased in a different manner but not speculating anything different. It's getting old.
@Vividnightmare You realise you can use a 360 controller on PC and PS3? They sell them for PC and with an XCM battle cross adapter (which works great) the PS3 is compatible.
The PC version looks good but it seems a bit dark, I'd turn the brightness up a bit. The PS3 version is looking good which surprises me seeing as Valve haven't worked on a PS3 title before. The Orange Box port was pretty bad. The 360 version looks pretty bad, especially in picture 2 and the last picture, blurry and way too many jaggies compared to the other 2... For console owners the PS3 version is the way to go, better visuals, Steam, free PC copy and PC/PS3 cross online play.
Strong and very interesting article although I personally found Mass Effect 2 not what it's hyped to be; I don't like it. I couldn't tell if it was trying to be a weak RPG or a mediocre TPS, either way it did nothing for me. I didn't feel it was good in either area. I love Metal Gear Solid 4, Dead Space, Uncharted 2, Fallout 3, Vanquish, Demon's Souls..etc..., so common sense would suggest I'd love Mass Effect; I didn't...
More gamers are male, *DUH*....; sexism, racism..etc... is a part of human life. We Westerners can suggest we're better then that but in other more southern countries it still happens. Throughout the ages different races have fought for dominance, in the animal kingdom the food chain is the same system. Everyone isn't equal (look at world number 1s in sport) for we are but glorified animals who dislike people saying otherwise because we have an advanced brain and the gift of speech and communication. It supposedly "hurts our feelings".... grow up. What is it with these over sensitive people. Fact is we all have roles more suited to our sex and frame; Women make good dancers and gymnasts whilst men make better body builders and Rugby players. That's not sexist but fact of life. Take this example, women are now allowed to be police officers which is fine but when it comes to arresting a 6ft 4 + muscle bound fella chances are male police officers would stand a better chance.
@Goods_Merchant Couldn't agree more. I loved Demon's Souls and cannot wait for Dark Souls. It's one of my all time favourites, I did prefer it to Uncharted 2 which is also a great game.
@Kevin-V GameSpot staff member I have a question regarding the scoring criteria then. Uncharted 2 scored 9.5 but Demon's Souls scored 9.0 yet Demon's Souls recieved GOTY?; I agree with that decision but the scores suggest Gamespot should have given Uncharted 2 GOTY. Also, why is it Call Of Duty never gets a bad review no matter how little it changes, how bad the AI is, how bad the servers are and how prominent glitches and bugs are in the game? I wouldn't mind if all these issues didn't push the scores down in other games such as the "bad cliched story" and "lack of new features" in Killzone 3 and the "terrible AI" in Medal Of Honor. No denying Call Of Duty is a great franchise but it's not perfect and has flaws that aren't picked out in CoD yet are in other games. I'm not having a go because all in all you guys at Gamespot do a great job of giving very informative detailed reviews; I'm just intrigued as to why this is so. Finally, please bring back the .1 decimal place scoring system atleast for users rating games, because one 8.5 game isn't quite as equal as another 8.5 game if you get what I'm saying.
@rodd76dog Give over. Alot of PS3 gamers are ex-360 gamers and/or PC gamers. Most people on my PSN friends list have that sort of background. It's not "fanboy-ish" to not stick to one system and see what's going on in the gaming world in general you know.
