[QUOTE="Maneil99"][QUOTE="mems_1224"] I mean everything about Halo 4 blows past Halos out of the water. The story moves too fast but its still interesting and you actually care about the characters more this time around. The graphics are amazing for a console game, they milked the 360 for everything it had and its one of the best sounding games. I was skeptical when I heard they were completely redoing the soundtrack and I was still skeptical when I heard it on spotify. It was good but didn't feel like Halo, they used it really well throughout the game though. The whole game is basically fan service. 343 played it safe, they nailed everything that made Halo great but didn't really make drastic changes to vehicles or weapons(even the new awesome promethean weapons basically function slightly different from the human weapons). It felt like this was them showing everyone they can make a Halo game and they did a great job. Hopefully now that they showed everyone they were the right team to hand Halo off to they can make some big changes next gen for Halo 5.mems_1224
Meh I don't think halo 4 is as big as of success as MS hoped, it only has about 400,000 at peak, something Modern Warfare 3 achieves daily a year after launch. The Metacritic is the Lowest for a Halo Installment. I found the campaign to be to thin. Why was the Covenant there, I know why, only because I read the EU but there was nothing in the game aside from a 3 minute terminal which didn't explain anything. Nearly Every objective invovled pushing a button of some sort.
Not to mention the multiplayer has been butchered to pieces. Maps like Vahalla have been destroyed due to the quickest kill times in a halo, and the focus on long range combat. There is no Big Team Battle, only Big Team Infinity Slayer , the removal of assualt, the lower player cap for Infection, the lack of editing infection game modes ( Not able to change weps) The somewhat lacking Large map design ( none of the BTB maps are gonna because classics) The lack of focus on veichles ( Warthog is useless in BTW , Banshee is nerfed, Gauss is still OP) The lack of map control due to focus on DMR/BR means gunfights are all similiar. That being said i find the game decent fun, just not Halo
Halo campaigns have always been thin, at least 343 made an effort at telling a good story in their game. So what if all the levels involved pushing a button? Bungie didn't make their campaign objectives any deeper. Metacritic is irrelevant, some of the reviews out there have been terrible. A lot basically criticize it for not being like CoD and every other FPS. Big maps have always had a focus on long range combat. I do miss big team battle but their objective modes are better, Dominion is great and Big Team Slayer surprisingly doesn't suck like it did in Reach. Big Team Slayer and Dominion from what I play have a pretty big focus on vehicles(warthog is not useless, banshee works just fine and the gauss is easy to take out. all the vehicles are if you know how). The lack of map control is better. People camping power weapons is what made the other halo games bad, the ordinance drops work great. Why did they remove unscoping when being shot, this makes it veichles impossible to do hit and runs with, and also allows people to camp and just spam shots. Halo 2 had an amazing story, halo 4 was pretty much cortana being a **** the enitre game , by the end I didn't want to save her, she whined the entire game. I've got 32 kills in a gauss alone, its a insta kill from anywhere, how is that not op lol. Banshee can be blown up by BR/DMR easily, and the AR is literally 100% useless.
