Full intergration which is the most important thing imo. PSN is just a little picture at the end of the XMB. Xbox Live IS the xbox. It boats community features such as IGN tips, Sentuamessage, 1 vs 100. Then there's all the little things like the lynx "game" Sky Player, Last FM, etc.

You realise you can go on Lat Fm on a Wii and Ps3 aswell, And you can also go on IGN on both of them? Watch Tv (I'm in the Uk where both consoles have alot of features stripped down) using BBC Iplayer, 4 on Demand ITV player, WatchTV.com etc. PS3 also has Private chat from the XMB.
The Interface prefrence is also subjective the X-box interface is alot more colourfull and atractive to the eye but imho harder to find exactly what your looking for and slightly slower.
The real positives of Live are Cross game chat and most importantly a universal friends list. The universal friends list opens up alot of opertunities and is something the PS3 sorely lacks.
Its certainly not worth £40 perhaps £10or so but thats the price of an extra game a year for the use of the internet and something Pc's gaming does for free.
I'm in the Uk too, and i own a PS3 and a Wii along with my Xbox.
PSN does not have anything like Last.Fm or IGN - Stratergize. The browser isn't part of PSN. It's not so much the presence of these things, but the implementation of them all. Everything is intergrated so well. Like it was designed alongside the dashboard.
It's really hard to explain, if you've used them both for a reasonable amount of time, you'll notice the difference.
I understand where your coming from in the integration stance I was just saying that it is possible athlough slightly more awkward and time consuming. But the last Fm debate isn't really much when you compare it to the Vidzone (Which I think is only available on the Uk PS3's, possibly Eu) which is a very good service.
I actually thing 1 Vs 100 is my personal favourite thing on live, especially because I usually do well and theres potential microsoft points. I would however have loved Microsoft let BBC iPlayer onto the console because I'm in uni and game on a 21 inch HD Pc monitor so I don't have to pay a tv liscncencing fee and it makes my PS3 incredibly usefull for watching tv and the main reason I left my 360 at home with my brother.
