This generation seems to only be hitting it's stride all the best games have either released late last year or after. (Which is probably true for any non fps fan). Im actually prefering this Generation to last and expect it to give the N64/Ps1 gen a run for its money as my personal favourite.
If you gave me an option of keeping the current service available on Ps3 or having it improved to the quality of Live for £40 a year I would stick to the free service. X-box live isn't worth £40 a year over PSN.
I'm sure Sony are making a fair bit of money from Advertising in 'Home' I mean Aalot of big names are becoming involved in creating spaces and im sure some are paying advertising. Eg the GAME sign on the moon hub thing is the same as the Logo for the Uk's largest game retailer and I'm sure they pay advertising for that. Surely that money is a substantial amount of the cost of running the system.
Yes all the Ps3 models are Region free. So European games would work on your (Im assuming) American console. Athlough you will have a problem if you ever want to download DLC for it.
Edit: I actually have 2 games imported from the US to Uk in my Ps3 collection. Which I bought while I was over there as they are at least 40% cheaper.
When I saw this thread I thought it was just blind patriotism. But he has a point, I actually had a quick scan over my games collection and alot of the games That are published by Big American companies are developed in Canada (Eg Mass Effect), Australia (eg Bioshock), Uk, Japan etc which suprised me. I'd still say the US edges it tho but by less than I thought it did.
You would maybe have had a better chance of saying this when the N64 was in its prime basically off Rare (And Nintendo but there not british) and Lara Croft was taking the world by storm.
