A rant about tv.com

I hadn't been on the site for a couple days and when I finally got back on today, it took nearly 10 minutes to load one page. and it's still taking a long time to load pages. and then we have all sorts of Bugs happening. I haven't gotten points for submissions that were accepted last week. I'm seriously considering leaving this site and finding a new one, if the conditions around here don't improve soon.

Drink more water

Okay, so I'm flipping around the stations this afternoon and see a guy holding a Lung or something. Turns out it's the Oprah show, she has a doctor on talking about what healthy and non-healthy organs look like and how to keep them healthy. And he said the most important thing to do for your entire body, is drink water. So people, Put down whatever it is you're drinking and drink some water. I'm drinking a nice tall glass of ice water, very refreshing.

Putting it in Perspective

I spent about 3 hours this afternoon watching cable news coverage of the hurricane, and am watching it again now. Wow, I'm glad I live up here in North Dakota. Sure we have really cold winters, down to -40 sometimes, and humid summers, but nothing like what they're seeing and going to be seeing down south. My Thoughts and Prayers are with everyone down there, especially any Tv.com'ers that are in harms way. Hope you guys all come out of it safe and sound.

Nick-at-Nite

I love Nick-at-nite, it's so fun to watch shows that I grew up watching. And like the song that they play sometimes during commercial says, "it feels like the very first time" It's almost like watching the shows for the first time. I just wish they would remove Full House. Don't get me wrong, Full House is a fine show, but it gets annoying after awhile.

Ticked off at Tv guide

Yesterday I got my tvguide in the mail, I was very excited to see that the cover story was about LOST, very cool. Then I open it up and read on the first page that there's a special DVD(with deleted scenes and stuff) attached to the cover, but only on the newsstand issues, not mailed ones. What's up with that??? The Loyal subscribers don't get the bonus, but the people that buy it at newsstands do get it. Does that seem right to you?????

Memory Lane

Today I walked down memory lane, AKA, my old street. first off a little history, I live in Fargo,nd-Moorhead,MN. 2 seperate towns, but basically the same town, since they work together on many things. Anyway, for 20 years we lived in south Fargo, then 4 years ago moved to moorhead, then just recently moved back to south Fargo, about 6-8 blocks from where we used to live. Today I planned on getting my hair cut and since it was such a nice day out, I decided to walk, it's a bit more than a mile, not too hard to do, and I got to go right past where I used to live. So on the way back, i decided to stroll down my old street. I walked through the old park, looked at our old climbing tree(resisted the temptation to climb it), even walked over and stood right in front of my old house. The place looked exactly the same as it did when we moved 4 years ago, except for one thing. More Fences, and big ones too. nearly every house now has a large wood fence that you can't see through. What happened to that place?? There used to only be small yard dividing fences and chain-link ones for dogs, but you could still see into peoples yards. now you can't, and that makes me sad. But it was still great to have some memories. IF that road and that park could talk. LOL, I'd have to plead the fifth, cause I don't think I'd want it to reveal everything.

Blogging

That's right, I'm writing a Blog about Blogging, do you have a problem with that?? first, is Blogging even a word?? for that matter is the word Blog in the dictionary?? I have such a boring life that I hardly have anything to blog about, so I don't blog much. But I enjoy reading other peoples blogs. Anyone seen the show on the E network, called Kill Reality?? It's a bunch of past reality "stars", are they really stars??? anyway, they're filming a movie produced by 2 other reality show stars. I watched it for the first time last night, it's a very interesting show. I'm now a level 14, Autobot, and I have no idea what the heck an Autobot is. The emblem's pretty cool though. I guess If I had looked at it a little closer, I'd have realized it was from Transformers, can't believe I didn't realize that at first.

ARRRRGGGGHHHHH what a day

This was one of those days that makes you want to do one of the following,, A. Scream B. Kill someone C. Curl up in the fetal position and cry. There were times today that I felt like doing all 3. The day started normal, I headed to the church about noon, to work for about 6 hours, nothing out of the ordinary for the first few hours either. Then it started. I was cleaning the nursery toilet and when I flushed it, it didn't go down, it came up. Spilling all over the floor. I ran to get towels and a plunger, soaked up all the water, then tried plunging it. After about 15-20 Plunges, I tried Flushing again, and it went over again. So the nursery bathroom is off-limits for church tomorrow. Then we have 4 units for central air, 2 in one room, 2 in another room, with the 4 controls spread out around the building. I change the filters once a month and today happened to be that day. I went back to one of the units, opened the door thing and all of a sudden the filters got sucked in by the spinning motor and was going around at like 40 miles an hour, whacking the inside of the thing like crazy. I had to run around the building, and turn off all the units(I have no idea which control is for which unit, just what areas each control is for. So after turning them all off, I went back to that one and pryed the mangled mess of filter out of the thing. Turns out the Wire mesh on the front had been bent somehow and got caught on the motor. So I get the new ones and the first thing I notice about the new ones(same brand and everything), No wire Mesh. I read the label and this is what it said. we've created a new technology that eliminates the need for wire mesh, which eliminates the risk of the wire getting caught in the spinning motor. Well, Duhhh, I guess they got that right. Then later I head outside to clean up garbage in the yard and discover that there's a broken bottle all over about a 3rd of the parking lot. This lot is pretty big, holds at least 150 cars. So I had to sweep more than a 3rd of the thing, to get rid of all the glass. I'd like to kill the person that did that. And that was my day.

VH1's I Love the 80's

I'd heard of this show, but last night was the first time I've seen it. VH1 has I love the 70's, 80's, 90's, I Think there's more, but I'm not sure. anyway last night wsa '88, I was 9, and I remember just about everything they were talking about. Roseanne, I loved that show The Chucky movies, Pretty dumb now, but they scared me when I was 9. The California Raisins, I had so many of those toys. The Teenage Mutant ninja Turtles, Man I loved those, I had almost all the toys of them. The song, "Don't Worry, Be Happy". There was more, but I can't rememeber anymore right now.
