I have gotten some help in the past and now understand more about the routers. But I still need help with a few things.

I want to know, how I can figure out if when I use my router and the rjxxx(numbers I don't remember) cables how will I know if the computer will have them plug into it or if I will need to go buy like an adapter. Should they just fit in and work in any random phone line looking port? Do they need specific ports inorder to work and what not?

Also, I am guessing my NIC is the adapter that makes it into a usb port in the back of my current computer. So does that mean to plug it into my router I will need it to be the usb connection? Or what kind of port will it need to go into the router? (modem going into the router)

Note: currently I just have the modem going into 1 computer and intend to get a router(wired) and put it into 2 computers.

The only thing that I could figure the difference between the 2 were the lcd screen. They say it can "show important game stats" but only if the game offers support for it. I would say just go for the one without the lcd screen. I intend to get one.

Well, I didn't really get one just for the computer... We have quite a few all around the house, it was just I was thinking I should put one in our computer room to try and help keep the computers all cleaned. I just get paranoid since I am still working on my 3000$ computer and building it for the first time, and just want to make sure I don't do something stupid and mess it all up.

Our house usually has a lot of dust and hair going around because we have dogs and cats. I was wondering, would having an ionic air cleaner too close to computers, manage to cause any problems? I wasn't sure since I don't know if maybe the electric cleaning of the air might do something or have a sort of electric field.

I can try to explain it better if needed. But my main concern would be having one of those air cleaners too close to computers manage to cause any problems?

In my mobo manual it says "it is recommended to cut out the middle connector" but I don't see how that is going to work. Even if I do cut it off, I don't see how I am going to get the 2 pins to be close enough to connect it, unless I cut through the entire plastic block that all 3 are connected to. I would be too worried to probably do any of it so I will most likely just leave it unplugged even though it'll bother me a bit from not connecting everything like it should be.

For my thermaltake case, the connector is 3 prong, for my 680i mobo the connection needs to be 2 prong. I read the manual and it says somehow I am supposed to cut/snap off the middle connector and use the 1 and 3 to connect to the pins.

Has anyone else done this and know exactly how it works?

So if like I cut out the middle connector the 1 and 3 can be bent or pushed together some how to fit the 2 prongs it needs to go to.

Sounds like he just wants to completely erase everything off his hd except for his OS. Doesn't seem like he wants to move them to another one.

Don't go for rainbow six vegas. So far if you ever plan to play any multiplayer, your out of luck with many game crashing bugs that make online play impossible. I would get tom clancy's ravenshield first, since it's actually playable online.

Well I guess you can say for now it's pointless, since most games aren't really optemized to get full use out of the extra cores. But when they start to, I can see that it will be good. Especially for other people who do stuff while they game, whether it be virus scans, downloading music or what not.
