Hey guys,
I just wanted to know if anyone here regularly visits or knows of a good site on how to mod your computer? I have an old IBM sitting in my room and I figured I could try modding it in some way.
Any help is appreciated

I'm not sure if this question is compeltely out of the league of Gamespotters, but I know there are some smart ones out there and they post quickly.
I was just trying to mount an ISO file on a CD, so I did... then whe I had the CD loaded it did nothing, so I went to my DVD drive where it was and clicked UNMOUNT. Now I'm stuck in an unfortunate situation. Whenever I try and open up my CD drives on my computer, it says that there is no disk loaded and ejects my disk.
how can I go about fixing this?
I would just like to point out -
Most of the PS3 games ARE in 720p.
1080p IS an improvement over 720p
and I really don't comprehend.... Why does the PS3 upscale PS2 games like MGS) to 1080p, but it won't do it with it's own games? At least the 360 upscales it's own games, if they're not 1080p...
Hello fellow Gamespotters.
I just received some Christmas cash (aw yeah!) and plan on buying a PSP with that and work money
My friend has a PSP but he didn't the answer to this question
How big of a memory stick can a PSP use?
One time I heard that it didn't support the 8GB sticks, but I'm not sure, it might have been for something else.
So does anyone know the size limit of a Memory Stick Duo for a PSP?
Thanks in advance
(p.s. answering the poll would also be greatly appreciated)
I personally liked during one of the earlier levels, your first encounter with the sewage-like toxic water at the bottom of levels. It said something along the lines of...
"If you fall into the water below, your marks will be seriously degraded, and you could potentially fail. Another side effect is death."
Playing Half-life 1, when they send you underwater with a crossbow to kill the Massive fanged-fish thingy. When that thing lunged at me I just about **** out my heartNight_stalker01
definitly would have to agree. I was standing outside the water and looking in, just thinking to myself "Do I REALLY have to do this?
btw, sort of off topic. but has anyone noticed that water in slightly scary or horror games is generally bad? always something creeping in there... come out of the water in F.E.A.R. and BAM! theres Alma. crazy litte b...
Im just going to put it out there.
Only in certain new games can bullets be seen. Sure, you could say you saw them in BF2, but you must remember, you don't. Many Machine gun turrets, Helos, and tanks and etc. have a certain number of bullets and tracers. For example, The jeep from BF2 claims to have 4 bullets then 1 tracer. so you know every time you see something yellowy white shoot out, 4 bullets have already come out.
As for physics, in older games it was merely as someone else had previously stated, the bullet travels along its path at x units per second, where x is the speed of the bullet and the units are defined by in game pixels/polygons. Recoil is determind as well often by for every adiitional bullet the gun is pushed x units this way and that (usually predetermined).
Bullets are relatively new. I know in STALKER the bullets actually have good physics - apparantly weight, speed, and the like affect the rate of bullet drop. Most new-ish games will have bullet drop, meaning, gravity affects the bullet. of course, it wont matter from relatively close conditions because of the speed of the bullet, though even a fast sniper will drop after a long time.
does that help?
well my specs are in my sig... I just got my computer this summer.
any other suggestions maybe then for why I can't go ery high? like in the Hellgate London Beta, I can never push it to DX10 or I lag like a Sloth in a pool of mud. I'll see if my drivers are up to date, but they should be.
Hello fellow gamespotters.
I have formally found that the worst part of my computer is my CPU according to the Vista thingy.
2.13 Ghz just doesn't cut it I guess. I've been trying to play some new games as of late and they are lagging when I try and push them higher.
I have an 8800GTS OC 362MB (the smaller MB one) from BFG. I don't think it's the card that's lacking; Hellgate London doesn't seem that intense high up there.
I am just wondering for the upcoming glory which is Crysis (in terms of graphics) I want to be able to bust out some sweet graphics.
Should I buy a better CPU (if so, which one? a quad core or a slightly better dual core?)? or should I try and OC my CPU a bit? Or is it just truly my graphics card.
I am sorta running low ish on cash, and with my brother's birthday, Christmas, and my girlfriend, I don't want to spend to much money... unless I have to. I know where to get them cheap, but I just don't want to waste money
thanks
