@Jimzeel @Mevrick How do you define that it works? The fact that it sells well? That wasn't the point Danny was making, and nor was it mine. I believe the player base for AC has shifted. Like WoW, while not a hardcore game, still took some skill to play and it attracted a certain player base, but now it has shifted to more casual play, and the same goes for it's player base. Same thing I believe happened to AC and CoD. And if most of your player base is shifting, then the franchise apparently lost what it once had(maybe it gained something else, but not something intresting to the people who liked it at the beginning).
Greed is what brings good franchises down, and by greed I mean things like yearly releases. The point of a sequel is to take the good things from the original and improve upon them, and flesh out the bad things, and if at all possible, then innovate something new. These things take time, which is why AC2 was a great game, and an improvement over AC1 in every way. But when you force a yearly release, and you force a small time window on developers then you won't see those big improvements, you'll see half-done "new" mechanics and some minor tweeks. The fact that development of the next game starts a year before the release of the current game just shows how actual improvements will likely not be seen.
@Rotondi @Mevrick @jimdove2 Well, of course I can't say anything for sure since it's not released yet, but it just seems like a cross between a mouse and an X-Box 360 controller, only that it does each of their job not as good as each apart.
I actually really enjoyed the massive damage you can cause in Prototype. If for some random reason you get attacked(or just decide to go postal) then all hell breaks loose, and you just flail around and single handedly destroy an entire army with your bare fists in a very cool way. When it's over there's even a little statistic of how much damage in money you caused, that was a very satisfying thing about the game.
@MAD_AI Guess I won't know until I'll mess around with it a bit, but I have my doubts this will compare to a mouse's precision, which is needed for RTS games and some shooters.
If I understand it right, isn't the trackpad thingie the same as the what you get in a laptop, Which is usually a pretty crappy replacement for a mouse? Or is this different somehow?
@neowarrior121 @Mevrick Are you serious? Do I really need to give a sentence structure lecture for this? He said "This idea that..." bla bla bla "...really needs to die" I truly don't see how can you understand something else from this.
