now i know this is all "WHAT IF" and whats done is done BUT its fun to think about the "WHAT IFs" in life sometimes. So yes you read correctly. Lets say if sony waited another whole year to launch the PS3. Lets say they launched it this november at $399.99 pricepoint, and all the games out now and coming out where all launch games. Games such as Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Resistance, Motorstorm, Ratchet and Clank, Haze, Warhawk Ghost Recon 2, Rainbow six vegas and COD 4 among other titles along with all the demos and content that the PSstore currently has and also along with the latest firmware update. I guarantee the PS3 would have KILLED the 360 and Wii this holiday season with no problem whatsoever.

Think about it like this, sure it would have given MS a 2 year headstart BUT think about how much hype and anticipation the PS3 would have had if it was launching this year with all those blockbuster exclusive games I just mentioned above not to mention the Gran Turismo 5 Demo for download. I mean think about it, sure it would be 2 years behind microsoft but ATLEAST it would have received praise for A. Being at affordable pricepoint and B.Having one of the best launch games in the history of gaming and C. Gamers only having to wait out several months until the heavy hitters such as MGS4, Gran Turismo, Killzone 2, Socom etc came out.

sure you might be thinking that it would be a terrible idea for Sony to sacrifice to be a whole 2 years behind the competiton but think about how much praise it would have received if it launched this year. Can you imagine how much the PS3 would have sold at a 399.99 launch price point if it had launch titles such as Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Ghost Recon 2, Motorstorm, Uncharted, COD4, Haze, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank, Folklore etc etc. I mean the PS3 would be praised for having the best launch game line up i history AND having great price point.. And the best part would be gamers would only have to wait a few months to get the great games in 2008 BUT NO. Instead look where they are now

Doesnt anyone see whats happening here. Lets face it, Sony is backing microsoft in a corner. I mean think about it, sure games are delayed for this holiday season but my god, look at how awesome 2008 will be for sony.. UT3, MGS4,Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 2 and Tekken 6 all coming out for PS3 next year not to mention the multiplat titles such as GTA IV and Dark sector. Not only that but the $399.99 40 GB is really pushing microsoft in a corner. You might say that all Micorosoft has to do is lower the price of the 360 even more BUT you are forgetting that MS is still losing TONS of money on the 360 and lowering the price any further will SEVERLY HURT Microsoft's gaming division.

So lets look at the big picture shall we. next year we will have a $399.99 PS3 with awesome games,Blu ray, built in Wifi, RELIABLE With no Hardware issues unlike the 360 ring of death and it will only be $50.00 more than a 360 not to mention with Home and Little big planet coming out next year as well with FREE ONLINE!! How can Microsoft compete with that?! I mean sure they might have GTA IV but so will PS3. Microsoft has no killer apps announced for next year and no Halo wars, Alan Wake and Ninja Gaiden are not killer aps. Im talking about killer aps such as MGS4, Halo 3, Gears, Gran Turismo. So far MS has no killer apps lined up for next year.

i agree with you...but i think the reason is bungie wants you to get good in all the levels not just one.... this is why its ranked b/c you have to be good everywhere.... other then that just make a custum game with friends or something...killtactics

true but I think they should ATLEAST Let you choose the game type because I personally hate Shotty Snipers, it has to be one of the worst online matche types ever created. Im old school, I want capture the flag or regular team deathmatch

Heck yea man, Thats what I LOVE about Gears, it has spoiled me so much with being able to choose match type and even the map you want to play, i really hate Halo's matchmaking system

who cares about ranked matches, i like to start up private matches and play a few of my family memebers.HeHateMe_basic

I get what your saying but Im all about ranked matches, why cant it be awesome like gears and just simply let you choose the match type and even the map you want to play! I also have Warhawk on PS3 and it even lets you choose the exact match and match type you want to play, so does shadowrun!! Why cant halo be that way?!

Halo 3 is wicked fun and I like it a lot but it has one HUGE Flaw.. The way it pratically forces you to play a ranked match that you dont want to play. For example when i start matchmaking for a ranked match lets say it puts me in a "Shotty Snipers" game or "Rockets" game,it doesnt let you quit without getting that "Do not quit unless you want to be penalized and considered a quitter" type message. Thats what I LOVE about Gears, you can actually choose the game type you want to play so easily and you know exactly what game you are getting because thats what you choose. But no, with Halo 3 its a roll of a dice, for people that absolutly hate shotty snipers (Such as myself) we are forced to play the match or quit and be "Penalized", thats just messed up.

Its even more messed up because when it actually matches you in a game and before the match starts up and it says the name of the map and match type you are about to play, you cant even quit from there!! If your lucky enough people will "Veto" the map but if they dont veto your screwed. Other than that Halo 3 plays like a dream, but that is one HUGE flaw that gets on my nerves. Why should i Be FORCED to play a ranked match type i did not choose to play, they should atleast let you filter out the type of team matches you want to play. Like being able to select regular team slayer, rockets etc..
