@Random_Matt: indeed, and it is part of a long game to branch out and dig in to more of individual consumer spending and use. They have the resources to do it, for how long is the question.
@sladakrobot: xbl subscriptions and Minecraft, those are what, out of xbox, brings any money. They do not however count the cost overall of running the xbox brand, which is why it is no longer it's own division. This allows them to cherry pick figures out of context to make things seem better.
And where are you getting 11% from for annual revenue? You literally can't cover anything newer than 2016, which shows for that year that GAMING as a whole was barely 5% of msft revenue, let alone isolating xbl and xbox from it.....
How do you get 11% from a portion of msft gaming division when the whole division made up no more than 5.3 %???
Are you confusing stats Perhaps? Like t he growth from last qtr or last year etc.?
@simonspearman86: lol, no, 3bil annual cost... period. This is why msft realigned the xbox into other sectors of its business so that they can obscure those losses.
@videogameninja: no joke, back in the day when the first MK launched in arcade, kid in his mother's basement killed himself because he could not beat the game, the news is so old it predates most internet posts. This is not like the kids who killed another using MK moves.....
@bdrtfm: exactly, it's sad that most of them jumped ship this gen to ps.. they are easy to spot usuaslly by their "gamertag" they carried with, but mostly by the way t he act online with others.
Now the block/ignore/report features on ps are getting used... Perhaps creating jobs for support?
