not only that, but PCs arent even really ment to be for video games, just like having games on a cell phone. the PCs main feature isnt games, they arent meant for games. its dumb that you have to keep upgrading all this crap when you could just buy a convienient little package called a console.

anshul89

Right because you can play Halo 3 on your Xbox1 right?

:|

Or why all my consoles see knowhere as much game time as my PC.

as long as games are developed on pc's, pc gaming wont die.

Most of the anti-PC fanboys on here are from the US. I don't know about UK or the rest of the world, but PC gaming is more expensive and more complicated than consoles, which is why majority in the states tend to get consoles.

Thats one of the reasons I haven't joined PC gaming, im too lazy to have to worry about all that stuff. Sure it might be worth it, but I don't want to go through the hassle.

pc gaming is cheaper where i live, a wii retails for around 600 american dollars here

I spent $500 to upgrade my PC. I already had everything I needed except for a better processor which is now and Athlon 6400 3.2.... and 8800 GTS 320mb version video card. I can play crysis at medium settings and it still looks great. It will run at high mode at 1600 x 1200 but its to laggy to enjoy. But I have read about some tweaks here in there that will fix that.

Anyways $200 for the processor
$300 for 8800GTS 320 mb video card

all at newegg

Yeah thats what i keep reading, which only proves my point even more, i just bought this and upgraded that, now i can play this...

You don't have to do any of that with a console, just pay a one time price and your done, then just sit back and collect whatever games you want until the next console is released and buy that time it'll still be cheaper then trying to keep up with PC technology.

Not to mention PC users being forced to play games on the now older XP platform instead of being able to enjoy Vista because of all it's defects.

so your xbox can run 360 games? you need to upgrade to a better console when they come out, the only difrence is that pc gamers can keep their rig for longer if they are willing to sacrifice the highest graphical settings, a video card like the 8800gt should max most games for atleast 3years before they start wearing out(not including crysis that game is on its own league and it cant be compared to most of the games on development right now)

also its not cheaper, i need 250$ to upgrade my pc so it can run crysis, now if i was going to buy a ps3/360 id spend more then that just for the console then theres also live and extra controller, more expensive games that dosent appeal to me etc.

Uh, yeah i already said pay a one time price for a console, "until the next console comes out" " 5 to 6 years later " as opposed to a PC's hardware that you have to upgrade like every 3 to 6 months.

Oh and by the way PC gaming could die tomorrow and it won't effect console gaming in the least, people will still need computers & graphic and sound cards for the home and working worlds especially the ones who work in the graphics, sign, photo and music and movie industry.

So please don't kid yourselves PC's were used to compute complex numbers and operations and programs long before games were played on them and they will be utilized for alot more after games are not played on them.

you judge me for not reading your post, yet you skip the part where i said high end video card will last 3years running games maxed out, and will last even more then that if you dont mind not playng on the highest settings.

2xx-3xx videocard upgrade is cheaper then 3xx to 6xx console

They'll still need cards.

Thos cards are a hell of alot cheaper, you dont use gaming cards fot hat, you use the Quadro series in so forth.

Meu2k7

Of course, but they're still GPUs. That's my only point. If consoles are still selling, then consoles will need GPUs. In which case, companies will continue to produce GPUs. That said, PC gaming is never, ever going to die.

nvidia sell more gpu's for gamming then all 3 consoles combined sell their hardware

just to make clear its the unreal engine 3, not ut3, meaning they will develop some games for wii using the same engine that unreal tournament 3 uses, that dosent mean the wii can the engine at its fullest potential

[QUOTE="musicalmac"][QUOTE="Lonelynight"]If PC gaming dies, so those console gamingLonelynight

I don't know how you would substantiate that claim.

PC gaming dies, nobody buys GPUs anymore, Nvidia/AMD/Intel goes out of business, and can't devolep hardwares for Sony/Microsoft anymore

At least this is what Nvidia said

Those are silly thing to say. Will people also stop using other graphically intense programs (ala video/photo editors)? (That last question was rhetorical)

Are there as many people who use videos/photo editors as much as gamers?

game developing would also die if pc gaming did, nvidia would stop advertising games, new gpu's would stop being manufactured since you dont need a 8800GTX for using the photoshop, and the Quadro version isnt suited for gaming, meaning that either console gaming would die or their graphics would stop evolvling, which would be pretty much the same thing

[QUOTE="Redgarl"]PC is higher than 702p... but not 1080p... 1080p is just stupid, it's bring almost nothing to the experience.
PS3_3DO

you can go higher than 1080p on a PC...a lot higher.

Not on Crysis you can't! In fact you can't even go to 1080p on very high if you want over 30fps n matter what system or videocard you have. ;)

well pc gamers eventually will be able to play crysis at 1900x1200 or even higher, now when will the 360 be running halo 3 on 1080 again?
