Funny thing is, Eidos probably killed all their own sales by pulling this stunt off.
Had they let the review slide, it would've gone unnoticed and they would've racked up more sales then what's coming to them now.

Exactly. If they just ignored it, there wouldn't be a mass down-rating on the game right now. Gotta love blowback!
Lol, "I'd rather have sex with my dog...", It's truly amazing, Jeff had alot more power than the company gave him credit for. Maybe losing Rich is possible, but Jeff? Whats gamespot without Jeff? the answer - a pile of crap.
i will soon be getting a 360 Premium (YAY!!!!!!) and since i dont have a hi-def TV, i will be running it on my PC monitor at a resolution just a little higher than 720p (720p is 1280x720, i will run it at 1280x1024) and i of course want to get Gears of War, but i dont know which version to get. i already put $20 down for the PC Preorder, but i could just as easily trade that for store credit and get the 360 version. since my PC and 360 will be running on the same monitor and i'll most likely use the 360 controller no matter which version i get the actual gameplay will be pretty much the same, i'm concerned with 2 things; 1. Video Quality vs. Lag. i dont want to have to turn my settings all the way down and not have it look any better and/or lag. 2. New levels. i want to play the new levels on the PC version, but again it's a performance issue. the new levels offer alot more expansive areas which require alot of fast RAM and a good CPU which i just dont know if i have. the constant 60fps would come in handy too. The thing that most bugs me on most console games is the lack of Anti-Aliasing (the 360 has default of 4X MSAA, but some games dont support it *ahem* Halo 3 *ahem*) those jaggy lines just annoy the crap out of me, and i'd want to run gears on 4x MSAA if possible.. here are my PC SPecs, tell me what you guys think GEARS would run like on it. HP a1600n. CPU: AMD X2 3800+ @2ghz, RAM: 3GB PNY optima 533mhz/PC2 4200, GFX: ATI X1600 Pro 512mb PCI-E x16 OC'd at 554mhz core 680mhz memory, 200GB 7200RPM SATA HDD. running HP Mx705 @ 1280x1024 what settings could i run it on?joe11king
I'd say 360 simple because with your GFX card, you would have to turn some of the settings down, and Gears is all about the prettiness
