I've been wondering for some time if i'm getting the correct performance out of my card, i've always got a nagging feelng its not switching to 3d clocks. What i currently get is:

25-50 fps in R6V, 1024x760 (no idea if max though, no setting :/)

50-80 in 2142 1024x760 Max, however when online with many people onscreen it can drop to 15...

35-80 Morrowind, Max, 1440x900

25-40 GRAW 2, Med/High - it won't let me change one setting, 1440x900

90-250 HL2, Max, 1280x900

30 - 60 AOE3, Max, 1440x900

Can someone with the same card tell me if this is right, i know they look like decent fps' but things like 2142 and Morrowind worry me.

Thanks for your help.

Have you tried increasing the fan speed with ATI tools? My X1950XT runs very hot because the fan speed is too low (usually only 50% under load) when i increase the speed to 80% it gets around 65 degrees under load.

ok i only put that topic to get your attention but its not bad i actually love it!!!!

so the real topic is i saw some specs for crysis and they dont look that bad so then why is everyone wanting to upgrade

i mean cmon i saw some requirements and it only needs like a gig of ram 2.4 ghz and i read a topic that it can be played using an nvidia 6600 (low settings) and recommended using an x1800 and can be played using amd (3 series)

so whats the big deal is not like you need $2000 to run the game (Y IS EVERYONE UPGRADING)

sabbath2gamer

Because they want to max it out, and bragging rights i suppose...

If you don't mind something a bit older, the mx400 is nice.

First off all i'm not some stupid sony fanboy whos come to the pc forums to be an idiot. I have just been pondering this recently when looking at the requirements to run the game. Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the RSX simular to the 7800 series? so thats would be fine. And i'm sure the cell is at least as powerful as a low range dual core, most likely more. That leaves the only problem the system ram, would that hinder it from being able to run it?

I'm not saying it would max it out, but surely it would be able to run the game

Your thoughts?
