Well, since his what, grandfather was a slave, I'd say he's somewhat affected by slavery in a direct way. I wouldn't call him a bigot, I'd call him a dude searching for equality of ethnicity in a way that isn't accepted with open arms..

It was his great-grandfather who was a slave, and since he did not even know of the guy until February of this year he was not directly affected at all by this. He grew up poor in the 60's and 70's, big deal. End of story.

i'm pretty sure he knew his great-grandpa was a slave, he just didnt know to whom until februrary

No. Genealogists discovered that Sharpton's great-grandfather was a slave. Sharpton was "shocked" by the new discovery. It was all over the news for a few days because he doesn't know how to shut up about it.

In fact, I probably have ancestors that were slaves and ancestors that have owned slaves. A lot of us do...

The point is that no one in our time has personally experienced slavery so you should not make people feel like they owe you for enslaving their great-great-grandfather.

[QUOTE="MotherSuperior"]I was ready for Bush to go on 9/11/2001.UrbanSpartan125
Bush's Approval rating during that time was about 90%, and we have not had a terrorist attack since so we are doing pretty good

No one cares about the approval ratings and the lack of a terrorist attack since 9/11 only means Bush finally pulled his head out of his a$$ just enough to smell the fresh air and somehow manage not to screw up too much. There should be NO terrorist attack if we had a good president, but the fact that there was means we have a $hitty president. Also, the fact that we are still in Iraq after almost 5 years, compared to WWII's 6-year duration, only further proves my position. Bush is a terrible president and we all know it. Impeachment was the only solution but everybody had their thumbs up their a$$es and nobody acted so more casualties was the result. I can only hope that everything Bush and his GD administration managed to screw up will eventually be reversed with the upcoming election. Here's to the next four years.

i researched both these tv's for about 2 months, and ended up buying the samsung 50" 1080p dlp. looking at them side by side at the store, the samsung had a much brighter picture, better contrast, and better colors. the sony did seem to be a little clearer, but not enough to justify spending an extra $300, plus the samsung accepts 1080p signals through component cables, and the sony does not. i've had my samsung for about 2 months now and it has been working perfectly.

Thank you for your reply. This is the kind of response I was looking for. I have a Sony 1080p SXRD display and I can't get the colors exactly right. I don't like the idea of moving parts in the DLP sets but the color accuracy might cancel that out. Does anyone know the bulb life for the Samsungs?

Is it for a computer monitor or a TV? It's not that great for a TV but it is average for a computer monitor.
