Exactly. To rephrase: it's the corridor shooter perfected. If you don't like corridor shooters, you won't like the HL series. With that said, HL's gameplay is basic, vanilla if you will...but it is the best damn tasting vanilla you have ever had.

LOL wtf is this? Is this just another move to encourage impulse buying?

Pfft...get out. Although...I do suddenly have this incredible urge to get this game. If it comes on sale again I'm totally buying it.
A remake...but what's the point of remaking it. Are they going to use another engine? Regardless I'm still intrigued. I really enjoyed it for what it was.I really enjoyed this mod, however I haven't played it for a while and can't remember much about it. They're remaking it too, in case anyone didn't know/cares.

Suit yourself. Just look around and I'm sure you'll find something you'll want considering almost everything in the Steam catalogue is on sale. Not to mention the daily sales that will be coming in over the next couple weeks. I personally think it's fantastic. On a sidenote I think we can all agree that Audiosurf is AWESOME! and if you don't pick it up for $2.50...well I really don't know what to say...probably something along the lines of: "You sir are an idiot". I picked it up with the "Time Gentleman Please" for all of $5 yesterday.this sale isn't that good.
the good games that are on sale i already have.
the mediocre ones i'm not getting.
no good packs like the THQ pack which i got a while ago

I'd go with Kotor. It's a really fun RPG with a great story. Of course if you dislike Star Wars then perhaps it's best to steer clear.
Personally I wasn't too impressed with ME. It was too streamlined, had weak side quests, and I disliked it's combat. Lots of people like it though, especially if your into a really cinematic experience. It's still good just not nearly as great as Kotor.
The update definetly has some kinks to work out. Luckily most of the major inventory glitches were fixed today.
The new weapons need some nerfs though. A demo with the Eyelander fully buffed is ridiculously hard to kill. And yes the pickaxe has no downside whatsoever.
I like the Direct Hit though. I use it for more open areas, saving my spalsh damage for tighter maps. Also the Buff Banner is awesome. I love helping my team and a good buff can turn the tide quickly. Also crafting, the bots, and the new maps are great.
All-in-all it's fun, but it certainly needs to be polished. Hopefully Valve gets it fixed up soon.
