I would go with win7 ultimate if it is not out of your budget. The board I referenced is not that expensive and the CPU is cheaper. I heard there were issues with the I5 sandy bridge and many people say to wait. PLus the board you have does not support more than one video card.

[QUOTE="Fonzee91"]No probs. I'll be putting a thread up in a month or for the exact same things :) note : i usually find one gpu to be better :) but its always good to have the option. Why not get the I5-760 with this board? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131594I'm gonna stick with 1 GPU, but I think I'm going to wait a month and get the p8p67 asus MOBO after the recall. Thank you so much for your help.

Video encoding LOL. I use software to do that and leave it over night wake up in the AM and I can have 8 movies converted! Have not tried the 1080P conversion but yea you dont need a special processor to encode video unless you work as a developer or something for a multimedia company. I5 2500K looks good. Its obv it is just marketing BS
It is 100% better than the one that came with SOCOM. I know what u mean once you loose that rubber piece forget about it! The new one is worth the money IMO. I use that one and a H500. :)
If you got banned from there, you'll probably get banned from here before the end of this thread. Never seen such super-dedicated mega-mod behavior as I do on this gem of a forum.--Rob--HAIL to the Mods bro!
What about the hackers who Penetrated into the NASDAQ servers? They didnt do anything malicious (not noticable yet) But you dont see them out bragging about it. People need a scapegoat to blame to Geo is that for the hackers and cheaters. We are entering an age where we might see cyber terrorism as all I constantly read about are things being hacked. People do need to see both sides of the story and read between the lines. Sue someone who does not have millions is the same as raping people for more taxes and paying higher health insurance. Ok im done rambling hope someone catches the drift in out media controlled society.

[QUOTE="Myzz617"] what about gaming over 1080P? I game @ that res on my consoles might want something better than the usual :)Tezcatlipoca666
you don't game at 1080p on your consoles lol, your gaming at 720p and with all the bad press Ive been hearing about games that are sub 720p. If you want to game ABOVE 1080p then the only way you're going to do that is with a CRT monitor or a multiple display setup, i.e, 2-3 monitors hooked up. I think thats a bit hardcore for what you want though :D
Or a high resolution monitor :P
He's right though, the PS3 renders at 720 or less and then upscales. This is not native 1080 rendering... you'll notice the difference when you hook up your PC to the TV :P
Some games do play in 1080P though. Much like some movies. Some 360 and PS3 games are 1080P very few and most are 720P I agree. Not sure if my current setup is 1080P with my two 8800gt cards in SLI been months since I have played. Anywho so I get it that I dont "need" two cards but if i get one 6950 I should be all set. Then In a few weeks if I wana get another 6950 flash em both to 6970 I should be good for a while right? I think im good with the GT570, thats another 50-80 I can save.Actually IDK. I need to find benchmarks that will show comparison of the two cards paired together. The 570 in SLI and the 6950 flashed to 6970 in CF and their bench marks. I am reading Maxium PC march issue and it shows the 570 being better then the 6970 but once again it is a single card comparison. So the 570 does seems worth its bang for buck compared to the 6970, but if flashing the 6950 to 6970 then obv two 6950's updated to 6970s would be worth the dough then the two 570s.
Got to love google!http://www.hwcompare.com/9021/geforce-gtx-570-vs-radeon-hd-6950-2gb/
what about gaming over 1080P? I game @ that res on my consoles might want something better than the usual :)going all out on a video card for RTS games is NOT necessary by any means. For example Im a hardcore RTS gamer, I love sc2 and play at least 2-3 games everyday. But I can nearly MAX out the game at ultra at 1920X1080 resolution with an almost 2 year old card, the AMD 4770. Like I said all you need is a great CPU, which the core i5-2500K is MORE than good enough. An AMD 6870 will last you the next 3 years for all games everything on high-max at 1080p resolution.

[QUOTE="Myzz617"][QUOTE="Tezcatlipoca666"] What would look good on a 46" TV? I mostly been playing PS3 lately and my current card does not go over 1080P on my system through VGA so I cant honestly answer that question. Recommendations? I can get back 500 from my job so thats why I dont mind spending up to 1500 cuz in the end it will only cost me 1000 :)Tezcatlipoca666
So umm, your TV is 1080p? You don't need to spend that much on video cards. You don't need a bloody 950W PSU either. *sigh*
I don't get your obsession with multi-gpu solutions! One good video card is enough. Have you seen the GTX 570 benchmarks?Anything past 60fps won't be displayed on your TV (unless it is a 120Hz - unlikely). Spend your money elsewhere (SSD, raid 0, blu-ray, legit OS, CPU cooling, etc).
This is what I have http://www.retrevo.com/search?q=Sharp+LC-46SE94U&rt=sp&modelid=10732295">http://www.retrevo.com/search?q=Sharp+LC-46SE94U&rt=sp&modelid=10732295Seems like since the most I wana spend on two cards is no more than 600 I should just go with a GTX580 then? Can those be SLI'ed with a 570? I refuse to get two GTX580 cards lol.Why not have two cards if It does not break the bank? Most of the benchmarks I see are for a single GPU configuraton not a SLI or CS configuration. Is it wrong to think that two cards will achieve more FPS and better overall performance than one card? As I stated before I been outta PC gaming for a while so my tech savyness is a bit outta the loop when it comes to the recent GPUs. Also it is not worth the money to buy a legit OS IMO if I can get a legit version by other means. For win7 ultimate 64bit it is almost $200, for that price I can get another card or spend it on my kids. I am not big on raid as I can do a manual back up which is easier IMO. Now If I decide to have the desire to OC then I will buy a seperate Heatsink. Water cooling im all set with that, getting way too fancy for me lol.
And really if every little thing matters so much then how come physx dont matter? I dont really consider it a plus with a single card but physx is sure as hell a big plus with SLI not only because of the good performance of physx in SLI but also because we are nitpicking every little detail and physx is sure as hell a big thing when you get to that.
SLI >>> CF as long as we are not talking dual monitors or 25x16. What good are $600 cards that cant even turn on all the settings?:)
