So I finally stated a Facebook account and I'm open to adding you people to my profile. Don't be shy. I believe all you have to do is give This Link a clicky and it will lead you to my page.

While searching through some of her friends pics I found this pic of the Wife. I thought it looked good...unfortunately she isn't making any funny faces or communicating with aliens, but I'll let it slide.

Update: Mexico Trip!

So I went to Mexico for Jake's birthday, but didn't bring a camera, so all my pics have been bummed off Cross and his Lady.

It was a pretty fun time as a whole.
Friday we met up and went down to the beachhouse, then began to imbibe some tasty beverages and smoke hookah, then when the rain let up Jeff pulled out his fire poi and entertained us.

Here is a pic of Jeff getting ready:

Here are some action shots:

On Saturday morning we went to see La Buffadora in the rain which looks like this:

Then we went into town and had some lunch before heading into Ensenada for some day shipping and we headed to the fish market because we didn't really know what else to do.

After that we headed back to the beach house for some beverages before going to dinner at La Fonda. Dinner was pretty exciting because the table behind us was a little out of control and started some yelling and shoving. The argument worked out for us in the end though since they bought us a round of drinks and apologized for the commotion.

Sunday we went to the beach and played in the sand before heading home.

All in all I would say it was a good time and we would gladly return. My favorite part would have to bee the constant street tacos, burritos and huaraches. I probably ate 25 tacos, 4 burritos and 4 huaraches in the 3 days we were down there. Oh how i love the tasty street tacos.

Edit: I noticed after I posted this that the pics get cut off, so if you want to see the full size version and the rest of the pics just go to my photobucket account and check the Mexico folder. Here is the link to the folder.

Happy Birthday to Me!

I'm 28 today...which is cool.

Today i'll be going out to dinner with 10 or so friends to a local sushi place. There will be sake bombs and reverse sake bombs, then the excitement will escalate from there. Hopefully it is fun for everyone involved.

If i'm lazy and don't come back online in the next couple days I wish you a Merry Christmas or whatever.

Sake Bomb is dropping a shot of Sake into a glass of Beer and looks like this:

All you have to do is hit the table and the chopsticks will seperate and drop the shot into the beer.

A reverse Sake Bomb is the opposite which means dropping a shot of Beer into a glass of Sake. Both are a good time and should be done at sushi bars.

New York City!

Warning! This is going to be a big one.

I spent Thanksgiving in Manhattan, NY with the wife, an old friend and his lady. The following is a crude photographic representation of the trip. We aren't really picture people, so there were a lot of times where we should have been shooting photos, but we just didn't think about using the camera. Something we need to work on :/

Anyway, Tuesday is our official anniversary we drove out to Vegas and stayed the night at Caesars Palace.

We flew out on Wednesday and arrived in JFK around 8 and took a cab to Cross's place. We decided to head out to dinner around 11 and they chose a nice little place in Hell's Kitchen called 44 & X. The food and drink there was exceptional. We headed over to a Hookah Bar and shared a hookah and some beverages. After that we went to a bar and closed it, then headed to a bar where Cross knew the owner called Commonground and he let us in afterhours. We didn't leave there until 4:30 or so and the owner was pretty cool.

Thursday morning we headed out to go check out the city and headed up to Rockefeller center and goof off in the tourist areas.

After a bit of walking the wife's feet started to hurt, so we went into a place called Tonic Bar in the Times Square area and had a couple drinks.

We headed back to Cross's place where he had prepared the best Thanksgiving Feast I've ever eaten. He made Turkey, Stuffing, Dressing, Gravy, Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Cranberry Sauce w/Grand Marnier, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans with Sliced and Toasted Almonds and had 8 different wines to choose from in addition to his usual bar. Cross and his lady invited 8 or so of their friends over to celebrate and we all had a good time.

Friday morning we went down to Ground Zero to check out the Trade Center area.

We then headed down to Battery Park to get a view of the Statue of Liberty. While we were there we ran into a Squirrel that wanted treats and a bird that wanted to be my best friend.

We headed home to change and get cleaned up for the night. We headed down to a little bar called East Side Bar Company which had a speakeasy feel. They had some great drinks that I've added to my repertoire. Here is a pic of Cross and his lady enjoying themselves.

After that we headed out to a Sushi restaurant and an underground Sake bar, then we ran into the Dessert Truck and had some treats.

After the desert truck we headed over to The Bowery Hotel Bar. The place was nice enough, but the people there weren't not my kind of people, so we left after a couple drinks.

Saturday we headed down to Chinatown for some Dim Sum. Chinatown was alright, but they Then we took a look around Little Italy, Soho, Greenwich Village, and the Empire State building. Chinatown was extremely annoying since you can't take a step without someone trying to sell you a fake purse or watch, but everywhere else was pleasant.

For Dinner we headed over to Barbone. The food there was great and the service was excellent. The smoking laws in NYC are pretty restrictive, so we were surprised when the waitress came over after we were finished and said we could smoke if we liked. I pulled out a couple cigars and we ordered another bottle of wine and enjoyed ourselves a little longer. After that we headed back to Commonground and finished up the night there.

Here is a pic of me teaching Cross how to blow smoke rings at Barbone. By the end he pretty much had it down.

Sunday we went to JFK and flew back to Vegas where we met up with my in-laws and spent another night hanging out in Vegas. We contemplated staying another night, but decided we had stayed away from home long enough, so we headed back :(

Edited:

Here is a pic of the bird. It was windy and he landed next to me on the bench, rested his head on my leg, then hopped up on my leg and I started saying, "get the camera, get the camera" when the wife moved for the camera he hopped onto the table and started checking her out. After I finished smoking my cigar the bird flew over to the trash can where I tossed the butt, then flew back to the table where we were sitting. It was a cute, but creepy little bird.

Here is a pic of me smoking at Barbone.

Happy Anniversary

Today is my third wedding anniversary, so congrats to me for finding a woman willing to put up with me for so long.

Here is the plan:

Tuesday:
Go to Vegas eat at a fancy place, then party it up. We'll be staying at Cesar's Palace so it should be nice.

Wednesday:
Get over to the airport in time to catch our flight to NYC.  We'll be staying with Cross who was the bestman at my wedding.  We'll arrive in NYC around 8, so we'll be just in time to have a good time.

Thursday:
Thanksgiving at Cross's place, then more partying.

Friday & Saturday:
???

Sunday:
Leave NYC :( for Vegas and again stay over because we are on a redeye.

Monday:
Head back home

I'll see you guys when I get back.  I might pop on from time to time, but I'll likely be in Ron's Favorite Nate State.

Oh if you are going to be in the area and would like to hangout send me an e-mail n8almond@gmail.com

Oh here is a pic of Ms. PAC-MAN.  I'll explain in my next blog.

Ms. PAC-MAN

Scottish Surprise!

I went to the store with the wife tonight and as I was loading the groceries into the back of the vehicle I noticed a cardboard box, so I looked inside and there was an nice little bottle of scotch.  I said "hey what's in this box?" and the wife started cussing about forgetting the Birthday present was back there and I started laughing.

Upon inspection I was pleased to see it was a bottle of Johnnie Walker Swing, but noticed the box was hammered and it smelled a bit like scotch in the back.  Turns out there is some kind of leak and it was slowly spilling it's tasty golden contents.

Here is the convo once I got into the car:

Me: So what did you end up paying for it?
Wife: You don't need to know how much I pay for your gifts!
Me: Well if you paid anymore than $60-80 you were ripped off
(she got an angry look on her face)
Me: So what did you pay and can you take it back?
Wife: Well I got it off e-bay for 200, but there were others going for $225-300
(I got an angry look on my face)

After we got home I discovered she thought she was buying a bottle of JW Blue Label King George V.  I applaud that effort, but we were both disappointed by the result.  Since all blogs need pics...here is a pic of the JW King George which will run you around $400:

Johnnie Walker King George V

I've already contacted the guy that sold the bottle and he has agreed to a full refund, so problem solved.

After that I tried to get her to buy me some Ancnoc 30 year instead, but she doesn't think I should have that much input in my gifts and it would be a pain to import a bottle. They don't distribute outside of the UK which is a bummer.  Lucky jerks like Max, Anthony and Donn get all the good scotches :(

Dang old GS!!!

So I typed out a blog entry this morning about what has been going on lately and GS gave me an error message when I clicked the submit button, so here goes a nonsensical random blog.  a real blog should be up whenever.

I was messing around on my computer and I opened up photobooth.  One of the pics caught my eye and I have decided to share it with you. Here is a pic of my wife doing god knows what and messing with one of the effect buttons...

Weird Lady

Don't mention this to her...she would probably kill me.

  • My brother Timmy gave me an Xbox360 this past weekend, so I am in debt to him and his infinite awesomeness.
  • I plan on getting Guitar Hero: World Tour, so look for an update once it is released with my gamertag and an open invitation to play with or against me.
  • My dad and sister are coming out here in a couple weeks and they will be staying with me for a couple days. That should bring a little excitement to my life and it will be good to see them.
  • I finished the 8th book in the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind and I would recommend the series to anyone interested in a fantasy book.
  • I'm grinding up to level 99 in Chrono Trigger for the SNES right now because I plan to defeat the Red Nu...he will fall by my hand!

Re: Yesterday's Blog (Fight? Fight. Fight!)

So i was thinking yesterday about what was going through my head and wondering why it seemed so similar. Eventually it occured to me that I it reminded me of a movie I had watched the night before. The movie and scene in question should become apparent by viewing this clip

Oh yesterday Odin asked me why I had a preference to wrestling and there are really two reasons for that:

Number one it is a little less damaging to the body that actually fighting.

Number two I started wrestling in Junior Highschool and didn't stop until I finished College, so I have somewhere in the range of 10+ years experience including Collegiate, Freesty1e and Greco.
