Both Gamespot and IGN got a taste of this game today, but the IGN preview is a lot more in-depth than the Gamespot one. Check it out: http://wii.ign.com/articles/852/852952p1.html

They even point out that "snaking" has been somewhat eliminated from the gameplay... Which is very good news indeed.

Metal Gear Solid. A re-make of Sons of Liberty with motion-controls would be sick.

[QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]That's what I heard. I think a new original IP would be better than just make a remake.chris3116

I wouldn't mind a re-make at all since I've never played the Metal Gear series. In fact I'm probably going to rent "Twin Snakes" sometime soon. I'd be the first one in line to buy a port of the sequels if they came to the wii.

Never.

The creator of the Metal Gear series already But said that the franchise wont be coming to the Wii.

He wants to make games for the Wii but they will not be the Metal Gear games.

But wasn't there a similar attitude toward the Gamecube? (Actually, it was avoided like the black plague, was it not?) And yet, a Snake game ended up making its way to the system. In the end, you may be right... But given the release of the gamecube game, and the fact that Snake is now very much apart of the Nintendo family, I don't think it's impossible for a Metal Gear game to appear on the wii sometime in the future.

Yeah a re-make is the most likely scenario... Just as the gamecube Metal Gear game was a re-make of the original Metal Gear Solid for Playstation. I was never interested in the character until I saw him join the cast in Brawl. Now I really want to play the Metal Gear series. I find it hard to believe we won't see him eventually, considering he's in Brawl.

This is just speculation on my part, but is it possible that there exists a mutual understanding between Konami and Nintendo, in terms of Nintendo agreeing to feature their character in their game in exchange for a wii Metal Gear game down the road? I mean, it's such a brilliant strategy on Konami's part to have Snake in the game - it is attracting attention from gamers who may have never cared about Snake before now, such as myself. You gotta think Nintendo's looking to profit from this arrangement in some way also.

He did appear on the gamecube with "Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes", which was a pretty decent game from what I've heard. And obviously, he is in Brawl as well. So you'd have to think there is at least a small possibility we will see another Snake game released for Nintendo, right?

So there is an extension piece eh? Nice... Thanks for the info.

Though the Wavebird seems to be the popular choice with you guys... I'm surprised. I can't imagine playing Brawl without rumble.

I just plugged a gamecube controller into my wii to see how it would feel to use it for Smash Bros Brawl, and I'm really disappointed with the length of the cord. It is literally a straight line right now going from the system to the couch (like, the cord doesn't droop down at all, it's just barely long enough) and any sudden movement on my part could pull the system right off the tv stand.

So now I'm forced to either buy a Wavebired or stick with the Remote + Nunchuk. I don't want a Wavebird though because it doesn't have rumble... Any suggestions? Is there maybe an extension cord you can buy to attach to the gamecube controller that will make the cord longer?
