Whether or not NR said they weren't putting MK characters in the game doesn't mean anything. They can do what they want even if it pisses people off.

Also.....this is how Netherrealm did it with Mortal Kombat; Introduce 3 MK characters (Rain, Kenshi, Skarlett- newly introduced) and then a random offset character (Freddy Krueger). So, obviously this all matches up.

@alastor529 I'm sure they will be bringing in an additional 4 characters to bring the total up to 8 with fan support, although these first 4 were done prior to the game even being finished mainly as a marketing scheme from Netherrealm.
