Dead Space 1 was great for the novelty. I played that sucker non-stop to completion after buying it.
Dead Space 2 kicked up the visuals AND introduced Isaac talking. And I love Isaac. I fell in love with that character in DS2. The plot was still solid and it had some really memorable moments. Going back to the Ishimura... freakin fantastically creepy. This game really nailed the atmosphere with some of the set pieces. So yeah... I think Dead Space 2 is better than the first and is still one of my favorite games of all time.
Dead Space 3 is one of my least favorite games of all time. Nice visuals do not a good game make. They ruined the character design. The plot was terribad. The novelty was completely gone. And the game kept getting worse from the start (early parts are the best - aside from the introduction). Really hope they don't make another one because I don't want to see that series getting even worse :(
You can get it now on Steam via early access. Very much a work in progress.
You can make out a ton more details depending on how high you downsample from. At native resolution, it's extreeeeemely dark. When I crank it up to 3840x2160, more details start to show up.
DMC was... alright. I never played any of the previous Devil May Cry games so I can't compare it to those.
As with most spectacle fighters, I found I was getting a little bored of the repetitve combat scenarios. Run into new room - wave of enemies spawn - fight with awesome ballet dance mobes. The bosses were pretty great though. ESPECIALLY the last fight. That made me feel like a total BAMF. Some of the mechanicas just got a bit tiring.
The plot is nothing to write home about... and unreal engine 3's limitations shine through all the time on the graphical front.
Pretty decent length game though. All in all it was fun, but I'm not sure it was $50 fun. I'm actually surprised it hasn't come down a bit.
