I've had a one-month card sitting around that hasn't seen any use so I felt like I'd offer a contest to award the winner of such the subscription code to the aforementioned one month. The way it is going to work is that I will reveal 25 clues, with the answer to each clue being the number or letter in that position. As you are familiar with the codes, you know that each of the five sets of five characters each is separated by a hyphen. In order to give readers here a fair chance (so that those reading this post later don't read it too late), I will reveal the clues at 20:00 Eastern Daylight Time (which is 0000 UST, or 17:00 Pacific Daylight). In Arizona, it will be 17:00 (no daylight savings time there!) To avoid confusion, just assume that it will happen precisely three hours and 30 minutes from when this post was made.

Modern Warfare 2. Mass Effect 2. Assassins Creed 2. Just Cause 2. Dirt 2. Gears of War 2. You can look at it right in my sig (if you are on GameSpot). Just about every game I play on Xbox LIVE is a sequel. The one exception - I've spent some time playing Forza 3. I guess it comes to show how old that series is having produced three games instead of two.

I was wondering what Xbox LIVE was like in its infancy before it was put on the map with Halo 2. While that game obviously made the service quite attractive to many gamers, it did take on a sort-of classy charm for its earliest gamers playing Unreal Championship, Splinter Cell, Brute Force, etc... Of course it was quite a small community, as many of its members today (including me) lacked high speed internet at the time. From what I heard it also had a more mature audience without young kids and n00bish behavior that a title like Halo 2 would bring. Xbox LIVE hit its first million subscribers in June 2004, and reached almost 3 million by early 2005... it was about 6 million when I joined in December 2006 and today stands at 23 million.

Very true... they could make a more closed, non-sanbox game with different missions, say realistic police chases. Sort of like a Forza 3 skin with police vehicles on regular public roads, see how long you can get away for.

Before I begin I want to reassure all of you that I am a law-abiding citizen who will not endanger the lives and interests of real human beings and property. Violent video games do not cause crimes; troubled people who claim to have been inspired by them to commit violent crimes are the ones to blame. I would love if a large open-world sandbox game with Forza-like driving mechanics as well as COD-like weapon mechanics would be created. In addition, I would want a video game where the police and military will come after you and chase you just as they would in the real world. You could be pulled over for speeding or driving infractions. The police could show up to your house in the game with a warrant. Cars would behave just like they would in real life and the roads would be the same. Obviously the first thing you guys are going to want to tell me is to play GTA IV. That game, although highly critically acclaimed does not represent a true life of a criminal. You shoot up ten people on the street and you're lucky to have two stars. You decide to up the ante by shooting a cop to get three stars, but as soon as you floor it away with your Sultan RS you're outside of the circle and the police aren't even chasing you anymore. Even when they are it's nothing like a real LA-style police chase. The weapon mechanics I guess are okay but imagine being able to tote a UMP45 just like in MW2 down a public street in the game? In addition, R* created too small a game world and in addition the cars do not behave right in places like Charge Island going 10 mph. In conclusion, the premise of this topic is to wish I could be a cold-blooded criminal in a simulated world without actually breaking the law. Imagine being able to actually hand the teller of a bank a note just like in real life and get to experience the thrill of committing a bank robbery knowing that no matter what happens to you your real life is not affected. Sure, lawmakers would come after this game but the vast majority would be law-abiding citizens like me, and with the disbarring of Jack Thompson, the video game industry should prevail!

Infinity Ward doesn't even own the Call of Duty IP; that would belong to their publisher, Activision.UT_Wrestler
Quite the PS3 fanboy you are; I'm def for Xbox 360 but I'm actually quite impressed with the loadout you got on your sig and pic. Who knows, maybe if LucasArts develops the next Star Wars Battlefront exclusively on PS3 I might join in...

Inifnity Ward is already leaving Call of Duty err Modern Warfare inorder to create a new IP, but if you knew this and were suggesting they move towards Star Wars, I would disagree. There's already a half dozen SW games that are praise worthy (even if you have to go back 10-15 years ago), but the real bread winner is Lord of the Rings. Haven't seen an FPS game from that franchise, so imagine the posiblities...jjtiebuckle
It may be rather difficult, if not impossible to make a Lord of the Rings FPS, or any FPS taking place in medieval or ancient times for that matter. That is, unless you want to play with bows and arrows or maybe advanced projectile weapons that you see in the LOTR films. Getting back to the subject, I did see on YouTube a Star Wars mod for COD4 so I'd imagine at the least there should be a Star Wars game based on the COD engine, lightsabers included. As for Infinity Ward, perhaps it wouldn't be to their benefit, but COD would certainly be a good choice for a game engine.
