Nicholai69 Blog

It may be all over, but theres plenty of others to take its place.

Yeees of course I had to give in and post up a blog, to celebrate...somewhat...the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009, though of course, this new beginning for 2009 could very well be the middle of 2008 far as i'm concerned :P i slept through a whole streets worth of fire works and sadly never even managed to get myself with alcohol poisoning  lol

But ah well, spose just this once i'll try and be a lil more cheerful 8) Soo err....yaaaaay..hurrrah, and ect 8).

So 2008, any highlights for me? Not really in all honesty, though this is the year that i actually started to bother with my GS profile, not like i consider that a highlight :P.

College though was certaintly full of memorys, the Wizard of Oz performances espiecally.

Frankly though, theres hardly anything i can remember, even vaguely in fact :?

Well there was this whole new sister of mine joinin the family too, spose that counts as a highlight :P. Still anything that I'm sure would of been an experience to remember I would of remembered, so nah not much to reminesce on i'm afraid 8).

I might do a top 5 list games of 2008 soon enough, just to at least commemorate something that I am fond of :P

So in general, a happy end to a rather forgoten year :? lol all thats left to do now is to hope 2009 will be just as memorable  Oh yeah and whata way to end it all...turns out i might have meself a deaf right ear O.o...it could be just a total overload of wax or whatever, but I have my usual pessimism to thank for my theory that I'll have to add a deaf ear to the list  lol

Now to end it all with a special mention to some of GS's finest 8).

Azure-The first person over GS that i actually didn't instantly despise and want to cripple  lol A real joy to talk to over msn, with all his occasiona random ramblings :P A fellow RE/MGS hybrid ofa fanatic who has certaintly made GS that much more tolerable 8). I'll defo have to buy u a drink...or even a bar maybe :P...once i become a midly succesful voice actor, cause right now i'm too cheap

Tudyniuz-The crazy romanian lol oj :P Definatlty one of my most faithful GS commentors, every blog usually has his name underneath it somewhere, no matter how boring or ridiculously long :P.

Missmorphine-While may have given up on GS, probably due to a lack of bloggage ideas since she was found out to be a total blog stealing ho lol oj :P. But still I've had many a...complex...conversations with her amidst GS and msn. Sure she may come across to me as shallow, annoying, antagonistic, psychotic, hypocritical and ect. but that figure of hers more than makes up for all her shortcomings  oj naah she ain't 'that' bad :P

Darksoul-Intentionally cute and lil ditzy she does at least give out alot of warmth n well being 8) those bone crunching hugs of hers to her trademark '^_^' at the end of each post :P all help giving her that friendly aura of hers to last 8).

Hellboy-Mr big-time director :P lol I always respect hardcore movie nuts such as Mr Murlock, and the fact that he has the name that sounds like it would fit pretty wel as DC super-hero helps too lol :P Initially underappreicated with his meaningful blogs with possibly me being his only commentor, well it sort of set the grounds for that small time independant blogger who with enough determination and enough trys managed to build up a noice lil circle of regurlar commentors 8) The fact that he still carryed on definatly made him stand out imo 8).

Princesstwilight-Could very well possibly be the female equivalent to me :P moody, miserable, lazy and wide-mind when it comes to music 8) its always been easy to strike up a convo with Nada 8). A lil kooky and always one to listen to me rant n moan (n sometimes rant n moan with me :P), shes defo been a highlight for me on msn 8)

Greengoblin-He's blatantly admitted he enoys da 'pr0n' lol that alone reserves him a mention :P. Anywhoo a fellow ps3age fan-man, the guys married so surely that gets him outa the 'boy' zone :P. Haven't really got to know much over anythin besides GS, but he did at least scalpel my ass all over chicago in a 1n1 deathmatch on R2 :P.

Graywolf-The absolute defination of the term 'badass'...least accordin to her lol :P But yeah, a total hothead who seems to have just as much, if not more, built up hatred n frustration as me :P. Always getting suspended, always moaning aboot whatever the hell she wants nuttin can stop her!?!, she could very well become our worlds very first super-villian :P wonder what her nickname would be...8)

Hintaki-Uberly friendly and always willing to comment, though from what i can tell not always that sure just what shes commentin on lol oj :P. usually the first to my commenting table also which these days to me could garner her a place in my will

Horseyjesse-Again another one whos almost overloading with smiley faces and kindness to all :P. Haven't had her tracked for all that long, but still from what i've learnt shes quite a truimpth for gamer-girls everywere :P. Beatin cliffy B on GoW2 and being quite the looker :P shes lowered the lamness scale of having gaming asa hobby far as i'm concerned 8) lol

There the peeps who espiecally stood out for me over GS, sure there may of been others and i apologise to anyone who thought they deserved a mention, but...well...unlucky? lol

Ok you got yah end of year blog, now get outa my profile lol oj :P

Finally, 'another day' has arrived.

Yet another day, yet another blog and its certaintly been a while but yet another two reviews are added to my list 8).

2 down out of a hella lot more that still needs to be posted up, latest two are The Force Unleashed and Lego Batman. Both seen as generally fair games both with their own potential fun but held back by alot of glitchs or faults or just plain lack of innovating factors, to which i do generally agree with, but made sure that I managed to show were the fun lies and just wether or not there both worth a purchase. 8)

TFU Review.

Lego Batman Review.

Not exactly a huge deal, but I've now decided to add in a small number based intro into most of the games qualitys, just at least to give a much quicker first impression on the game. And even though I'm well aware my reviews are mostly ignored due to there possibly overly long length O.o..well any ideas or critiscm for my reviews will still be appreicated from anyone who does actually put in the small amount of effort 8).

OMGWTFBBQ...xP

Is the title of the gold trophy i got for completing resistance 2 on Superhuman mode 8). Yeah...thats it...lol :P in some ways its me letting loose my bragging rights 8) but for the most part its because i tink it has a rather 'lol' name lol :P

It was actually not as tough as i was expecting, superhuman mode I mean. Probably from the amount of hours i've put into R2 has gotten me to become some sort of resistance mutant :? or maybe it really isn't just that tough to complete. Etheir way, I am now part of the many who has been given the title....of OMGWTFBBQ

So yeah, blog finished...well i've seen plenty of ppl post pointless blogs of their latest game they just purchased, or an overly long list of games they've completed....seriously wtf O.o lol...so i figured a pointless blog aboot my latest golden nugget of a gaming ego booster should suffice for me latest blog ...now i feel all dirty :?

Its the most wonderful time, of the year...???

To some maybe, but as depressing as it may sound, to me its just another day that'll fly by before i even realise :? lol

Not like i'm totally tryin to knock off Xmas and all its indiscriminating joy, but dunno, i'm sure i'm not the only one who can agree these days it more for the younger generations. Everyones wallet being shoveled empty to pay for the gifts, trippin over decorations and dancing santa clause's as you make your way through the living room.

Having to wait in a queue for at least a good 20 mins to purchase 'anything' lol...or maybe having to wait usually a week for anyone with a functioning brain to do their shoppin over the net.

It all equals to alot of hassle really, most of which i don't bother with. No job equals no money, small flat equals little amount of decorations and the recent hype of the gaming media in general equals a few decades wait for any gamin purchases at the shops.

I'm sure one day i'll hopefully be able to make my own christmas, once i do actually find myself witha job and my own sizable flat, but until then Xmas is as important as saving the whales for me  lol

Still, least this Xmas will always be memorable for the holiday of when i spent most of my free time amidst the chaotic city that is Rapture, yes..Bioshock...still haven't completed it yet...but christ i can now see just why it can usually be found with the minimum score of 9/10. In one word its unbelievable and definatly has to be experienced first hand to be able to really have people understand what is so great aboot it. The diverse gameplay styles, its unnerving atmosphere and very compelling storyline all fit together perfectly to make a brillaint hybrid of a fps/rpg/horror game.

I'll explain more in its ever looming review :P but until then i leave that small description to show just how grand i believe Bioshock is 8).

But anywhoo, yeah a Merry Christmas to anyone who still takes this time of year with good will n all that overrated malarchy lol :P

Now the New Year...thats the holiday that requires you to create a memorable day...only to be forgotten the next day due a head-splitting hangover :P.

One pet cat---100 Pounds

One adorable little santa hat---4 Pounds

Taking a picture of the cat going through some sheer shame---Priceless

Christmas is finally here!! Well, the Christmas term anywhoo :P

Yes finally, all assessments assessed, all performances performed....still a crap load of written work to be handed in :?....ah well i've got 2 weeks to worry aboot that 8) lol (though i'll still be usin that excuse on the day b4 goin back to college i bet :P) and with so many new gamezzz to be playin, its now time i re-arrange my prioritys

Sooo with most...actually all :P i'm a lil late to the table, but that was mainly over my own parania of thinkin if they were truelly worth full price, well each game now I've managed to purchase for less than full price, some much less than others but still, each one I've managed to avoid payin those scum-buckets their undeserved full price of 40+ quid 8).

First on me list was actually payed for in full of 45 quid ...though it was a B-day gift of me mum so its totally free far as i'm concerned :D lol

Bioshock

---Please can't we just talk this over?!? I'm sorry for buying the last vampire halloween costume leaving you with that filthy pedophilic underwater diver costume ok?!?

I haven't put much into it, much like most of my purchases mind you thanks to college, but from what i've played and seen its definatly worthy of its almos unanimous praise it garned from like every side. Its amazing atmosphere and creepy 50s soundtrack combined definatly equal to a joyful stay admist Rapture. Those splicers talking to themselves really can give you an uneasy feeling and even possibly pity. Seeing a female splicer crying over her lost baby really had me pause before smacking her head in with my wrench. Its gameplay too is enjoyable with the ability to search practically everything for items and buy new upgrades n hack robot's n the like, a noice touch of RPGness which mixes well with its unorthodox fps combat. You may run out of ammo for yah firearms like as soon as you pick it up, but it definatly adds some fear and strategy in making your bullets count.

The Force Unleashed

---Could you tie my shoelaces for me my young apprentice? Just its gotten so awrkward to do it myself with my robotic joints you see...Also while your down there....my....handsome apprentice...lol

Anywhoo I initially gave FU a fair rating of 8/10 after trying out the demo, of course thats what demo's are all for though To give you a real taste of a games best bits to assure a purchase. Well anywhoo, after searching through PLAY.com I found me a very sexah offer of FU...brand new....for 18 quid??? A real steal ofa deal IMO  soo yeah obviously ordered it, had to wait like 6 days for it to get here, but with that price...and no delivery costs 8) it was worth it.

So once it arrived I was still expecting I'de lower my score down some with me seething at the mouth and bleeding at the eyes with frustration ''DAMN TARGETING SYSTEM?!? FORCE GRIP THE BLEEDING DUAL LIGHTSABERED JEDI NOT THAT HARMLESS LIL TRASH CAN'' :P Fortunatly though I haven't had 'that' much trouble with its targeting system really, I still have an urge to lower my rating down to a 7.5, just over its overall combat. It feels sort of stiff and even slow paced at times. When your striking an enemy with a lightsaber...well you'de expect the lightsaber to simply carve through whatever like steamed butter, not sort get stuck for a milisecond before slicing through :?. The level design too can get pretty cumbersome with me accidently double jumping right off into the unknown below, then sitting through the FU's very own neighbourly load screen :? lol seriusly that ting won't go away....check force upgrades....load screen.....save game...load screen.....die...load screen....reach checkpoint (occasionaly)...load screen :?.

The fact that you can be totally dragged across the whole level by an enemy once u get knocked down is also another nuisance. But still, overall its got some fun hack n slash gameplay and a surprisingly likable protagonist. The story seems intrigueing and its upgrade options are plentyful enough for me to carry it on to the end. Wether or not i'll actually return to force pushing everything in my path though is hard to say.

Lego Batman

---Owww my left blockickle

Now lego batman is the one that i had to pay a rather substanial amount of moolah for, least comparin to the other two :P. 30 quid it cost me, which is still 10 down from its original pricing mind u. I too played the demo of this aswell and while thought it really was alot i've already played before through the lego star wars games, i still believed it had enough of what made it fun to be worthy a purchase. Plus it agreed well with me n me lil brother playin co-op 8).

Sooo lego batman, well first i have to say it does have some surprisingly great visuals with everything lego you'll come across being full of life and bright colours. Its 'story' too this time around is completly original...well as in not based on the movies, I doubt a story were.....act 1 bad guys escape from Aslyum....act 2 batman stops badguys....doesn't deserve an award for originality :P. But even still it contains the lego games usual brand of humor, most of which actually made me laugh at times :P

Overall lego batman is a game for, like you'de expect, fans of the past lego games since it doesn't really bring much for anyone else who didn't fair well with them to have their opinion switched with lego batman. One thing i must say though is lego batman, while still of course totally family friendly easy, could be one of the hardest lego games out. Well I haven't played indiano jones lego game, but comparin to lego star wars it definatly seems to have had a few of its nuts tightened up abit with it giving you some rather hard to figure out puzzles and a large amount of enemies to survive against. This time around trying to complete a level without dieing is certaintly no feat for the 7 yr olds the game is played by.

Sooo yupp, there all probably long forgotten by now by most of the gamin community :P but even still i thought i'de post a few impressions on some equally loved n loathed games just to add my own to the rising tip 8).

Reviews will follow soon enough...actually i've got quite alot on my list atm :? college though as you'de expect sort of put my never ending reviews to a halt though.

Meet the cast, of the Wizard of Oz XD

There we have a jolly pic of the fantastic four. Starting at the Cowardly Lion on the left and ending on the Tinman, just incase any1 maybe has the costumes a lil mixed up. Ged (Tinman) sorta looked lika Storm trooper to me lol :P or an extra from the Tron movie :P or even a Darlik :? lol

By today we've now performed it 3 times, once to some other students, then over at some youth club for aboot 20 9-11 yr olds annnd today for a mixture of college students, kids with their parents and even some of the college staff 8).

So far each one has gone pretty well, the first time was more or less a rehearsal of sorts instead of one of the actual assessments. The one performed at the youth club was very succesful 8)...though could of been better....since before i was able to introduce myself in as the true Wizard...all the kids had to go home because it was too friggen late  lol

Todays performance though had the whole thing done and surprisingly, ours got more laughs from this audience than the one at the youth club :? lol espeically with my moody monkey and slightly camp Wizard roles lol :P

And there we have mwah 8) all dressed up in me monkey garb, complete with my own swarv tuxedo, well least now it actually suits its nickname of monkey suit

HOME sweet HOME...Now if I could just find my keys to get in.

Yupp along with every other ps3 moogel out there I have at least tryed SCEE's very own second life (one of which that has no elves to be seen BOOYAH!! :P) simulation game, HOME.

Though I haven't really had enough time to even garner much of a first impression as of yet, since whenever i try to sign in I'm treated to yah typical 'error' notice...god i hate that signal....as if it was bad enough it constantly pops up on every crevace of our computers, now our own home consoles are littered with 'errors' lol

Still, I managed to build me a sim or whatever your supposed to call it, i tryed to of course re-create myself, didn't do so bad though it obviously isn't quite as handsome as the real deal 8) lol oj :P Annoyingly i couldn't quite getta 'messy just outa bed' hair$tyle to equip me sim with so the hair aspect will never be able to match at this point lol

I would post up a piccie of Yummylee..as i'm guessing were known as our PSN IDS, but recently i again haven't been able to sign in  but meh, its free and a beta none the less, so whatta yah gonna do?

I did getta chance to have quite a few advertisements shot at me in every direction i turned, which was to be expected i guess, since its not like the ps3 has any advertisments on tv these days  lol Checked out all the emotes and the dances espiecally were varied enough to suit each type of persons tastes i presume. The other standard emotes all suited well to give the impression of what your sim is implying. Of course even without emotes you can still freely speak yourself through headset or keyboard...to which i have netheir :? lol so i'm stuck with typing at the 'metal slime' pace using my pad...to which i honestly cba gettin some convo's out when it takes me like 10 mins to say ''You were almost a GERBIL sandwhich'' :P

It obviously has potential though, most of which will arrive in the incoming patchs and updates ect. but for now its sorta bland really and with no headset or keyboard practically useless.

Two down, four to go.

Thursday college lesson had me tick off 2 out of the 6 end of term assessments I've had to perform.

Though it sadly wasn't the ideal outcome. For one, as usual, for the most of the day I was feelin rather sluggish and was finding it difficult to learn my lines and rehearse. I wasn't the only one though, for 'The Birthday Party' rehearsals we all seemed to be having trouble trying to get our lines right and it lead to a very frustrating atmosphere with everyone yelling at themselves and all that crap. I was feelin pretty pissed espeically at this song that just wouldn't stay stuck in my head. It was a pretty short song like and was probably for comedy purposes, so me having no singing talent whatsoever didn't get in the way, but even still I'de read through (many...many times) then when it came to rehearse the bloody thing its all totally blank. The end performance i managed to get a few of the right lines out, but for the most part i just improvised some gibberish....it was all done in an irish accent so i doubt anyone would of noticed the difference

We also accidently skipped like half a page of dialoque :? but no matter, the end scene we still nailed pretty well, most of my group thought it went pretty sh**, I felt rather guilty over that fact for me taking so long to try and get my friggen lines memorised but overall thought it could of been alot worse, and frankly as far as the audience is concerned i tink there were no problems :P

Heres a Mug-shot of me Irish-thug expression :P...though i noticed it doesn't stray too far from my usual expression lol

Not much is really known aboot my character in The Birthday Party, since we were only performing an extract from the play it didn't really give much insight etheir to the overall situation. :? My character though 'McCan' was some Irish Thug who appeared at the birthday party of some guy called Stanley. Me and Goldberg, another thug, were to escort Stanley to who knows were, maybe some mob boss or sumin similair. But not knowing we were stumbling into his birthday party complete with guests, both McCan and Goldberg decide to roleplay as guests themselves. Stanley seems to have suffered some sort nervous breakdown and doesn't speak throughout the performance.

The scene that we performed like i said doesn't really give much detail into just what exactly is going on, I had to research the play just to figure out my characters true intentions. It definatly looks to be a pretty fun play though, one that i would eventualy like to perform in as a whole 8).

The other performance, an extract from 'Abigails Party'...proper party animal me :P...went much smoother. I had not as many lines in these piece, but even still I was able to remember my lines pretty accuratly in this piece :?. Everything went according to plan and we got a few laughs in this thanks to its witty writin....and...well the performances who delivered them too lol 8).

My character in this was a typical white collor joe by the name of Tony, I was at party being hosted by Beverly who is sort of a gossipy loud mouthed clutz. Other guests are my wife Angela, a nurse who talks rather slowly and is best described as abit ofa mong tbh :P. From the scene we perform I'm hinted to be quite a bully over Angela and seems to enjoy bossing her around.

Other characters are Laurence, Beverlys upper-Klass wannabe husband who trys to faux a vast knowledge in culture, paintings and all that artyz stuff. And finally Susan, who isn't really all that evident in the scene we performed. Shes a very timid character whos too polite to simply get herself out of this situation to which she really does want to flee from.

Anywhoo the main focus in this scene was Laurence suffering a heart attack and us all trying to help as much as we can. Tony though seems to still be rather uninterrested atm and while will be the one to call the ambulance, for the most part is to sit there staring at the clock :P.

Beverly will constantly switch between concerned wife to then explaining how its all Laurences own fault over his heart attack

Abigials party was pretty fun to perform in and definatly a play that i'de like to perform as a whole too. Theres also a movie of it too apparently :? but i haven't bothered to look up any info as of yet..

Sooo yeah thats thursday was summed up, there was 5 other performances but they didn't involve me so and i can't really bothered giving a quick rundown on each n every one :P.

I was also plannin on takin some pics of us all in our costumes, but i forget me bleedin camera  still theres a whole week of the Wizard of Oz for me to get a lovely lil album of me dressed asa monkey :P lol

My 2nd suspension, but least this one was worth it..somewhat.

Fortunatly this one didn't restrict me for a whole friggen week, but was still rather annoying to have to go through, specially with the absurd amount of blogs that have been flying past me :?. But fear not u lucky SOB's 8) lol I'll now make my first priority...ok its not going to be me first...or 2nd...oroor 3rd etheir...but i can assure u i'll comment on al the blogs i've missed....when i can be bothered

But yeah...suspended for two days...and why?? Weeeell i don't know if i should even give out any of the details just incase i may incure the geekish wrath of another mod

But basically, I was argueing with a mod...lol u obviously know how that would of ended even if i didn't blatantly state i was suspended  lol

Annd like all arguments, it revolved around our two opinions clashing, though i of course was very easily able to back my point with 'alot' of easy to spot facts while the mod was basically going around in circles O.o i obviously embarresed him too by how easily i was totalling owning this 'debate' 8). So of course...what did he go n do? suspend me of course =/ I mean what else is there really? Your totally being hammered having your own worthless opinion wiped all over the floor, well u don't accept defeat oooof course not, u simply mod the dude for being right and carry on wolloing in their world of delusions 8).

It did though manage to further my point with just how ridiculous the mods are, totally abusing their power to shut the truth, hell the mods around GS are more or less politicians if they happen to regurly walk around town in 500$ suits

Anywhoo like i said, i wouldn't be surprised if i again got suspended for this blog, or even banned actually, but i also could very much move on that is the case. Still, would be noice for u to all to comment as quick as possible while this blog is still posted :P

Top 5 Anticipated games of 2009.

2008 is almost over, and while to me at least, it feels like its totally flew by without even a goodbye, it managed to leave itself a pretty memorable mark with plenty of freakin fantastic gaming releases but also a hella lot of very much anticipated movie releases, most of which i still haven't seen :P.

I was initially tinkin of doing a top 5 list of games from 2008, but since I admittedly have skipped a fair amount of releases which i would of liked to get for meself I decided to list a few five of what i'm absolutly hyped for the ever closer year of 2009 8).

So then, works like yah standard list, 5 is obviously the least anticipated while 1st is the one i'm willing to whore myself on the streets to getta early copy of :P.

So then, at 5th place for me isss...

Starcraft 2

Ever since the frustating revelations WoW has brought to the warcraft lore, I honestly have moved the starcraft series above to my No1 RTS. Recently though i;ve definatled strayed from the whole genre, but while i doubt SC2 will bring me back to my initial addiction to the RTS genre, it'll at least get me back in the fold somewhat.

Silent Hill-Homecoming

Now to the american audience, and the Auzzies too, SH HC is long forgotton as another entry into survival horror genre. But for us lucky europians, we've got till february for us to grind our teeth waiting for its imminent release . For anyone who knows me, or frankly is even familair with me :P its pretty predictable to have this up here, been a so n so dedicated fan to the series, i could of put more effort into getting more of silents hill secrets jammed firmly in my skull, but without SH HC my motivation did lessen a lil. Still i suppose i should of least got me SH origins :? lol but ah well, i didn't stand a chance with so many other newer releases popping up all over the tv, on bus' and pretty much invading my dreams lol :P

Godfather Part 2 the game

The original might of been rather overlooked by the main streem gaming community, but it still fortunatly had a substantial amount of fans to garner itself a sequel game, based on of course, the sequel to the original Godfather movie. Adding in much more stradegy this time around it definatly looks to give a fresh new look with your typical crime themed sandbox title.

Resident Evil 5

RE5 certaintly seems to be the GTA4 of 2009 with it being on practically everyones wishlist and for it being one of the most anticipated games not only in RE history, but in terms of an 'action' horror game in general. I may constantly moan aboot just much of a disgrace RE5 is to its Klassic roots, but even I know I'll still enjoy RE5 immensly. Not for the same reasons as to why i'm a dedicated Klassic RE fanatic, but because its looks to have alot of gorey fun in store.

^^^^^Wish you were here....to get this crazy old loon off my ass!!^^^^^

Uncharted 2

While it may not have any official release date besides a bunch of rumors fluttering throughout the net, I myself do beleive its at least 'planned' to be released in the year of 2009 sharing alot of other well known ps3 exclusives. Not much is known aboot the famed sequel, theres even any decent images to put up for any anticipated games of 2009 blogs...lol But i'm sure this piccie of what looks to be a homosexual couple will do the trick :P lol...Comon what did yah tink is giving Nate that flirty grin stretched across his face? lol  Saucy Sully u dog u 8).

?!?....What??? NO FF13....NO GOW3????......NO TEKKEN 6???

Well actually Teken 6 should be up there lol :P but meh, unlike most I sort of gave up on the FF series after only a few hours of FF12  And GOW3? Weeeell frankly a DMC5 is what i'de be more looking forward to
