IGN AU.
8.5 Presentation
Menus are slick and easy to navigate.
8.5 Graphics
Daytime sections look great but drab night sections.
9.5 Sound
We can't get enough of that ****c Halo soundtrack.
9.5 Gameplay
As always the controls are sublime.
7.0 Lasting Appeal
A five-hour Campaign is pretty disappointing.

Impressive OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)
IGN UK.
8.5 Presentation
As slick and efficient as any Bungie effort, its one failing is its lack of matchmaking for the otherwise excellent Firefight mode.
9.0 Graphics
A slight step above Halo 3's already splendid offering, its cityscape is frequently beautiful.
9.0 Sound
O'Donnell's new direction for the soundtrack fits the action well, and elsewhere the dialogue and gunfire matches Bungie's typically high standards.
8.5 Gameplay
It's ****c Halo packaged in an all-new way, but the delivery of the spectacular scenarios falters.
8.0 Lasting Appeal
Single-player is short and sharp, leaving Firefight to be the sole long-term draw. It's brilliant, but whether it can maintain prolonged interest on its own is debatable.
8.6
Great OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)
IGN US.
9.0 Presentation
A tight story and well-crafted world make for one of Bungie's best efforts to date.
9.0 Graphics
The Halo 3 engine is starting to show its age, but the art team has done its best to make this one a looker.
10 Sound
Another Halo game, another fantastic soundtrack.
9.0 Gameplay
The campaign might be a tad short, but it sure is satisfying. The fresh approach to Halo is a winner.
9.0 Lasting Appeal
Firefight is awesome. It would be even better with matchmaking.
9.0
Outstanding OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)
Now, I've brought my flameshield just in case but it seems to me like this game got let off the hook a bit too easily (probably for being Halo). Especially the US review seems slightly biased (damnit, I really wanted to not use that word).
Now I'm not saying this is intentional favoritism but this happens all the time. I remember watching Matrix 2 in the cinemas close to it's release date. I. Was. Blown. Away. Few weeks, later I realized that my own enthusiasm may have "enchanced" the experience beyond what it would have been without my "goggles of expectation".
Call me a fanboi all you like but are'nt those reviews (just read the sammaries) just a bit too forgiving?

Just wondering, but what is your aim? The purpose of this post? For IGN US to go hmmm, we should change out score?
