I understand that. But it should only reserve several MBs (like 100-200MB). Yet, my PC reads only about half of the available memory and when I format it, it says it was unable to format. I'm gonna try a different computer.

And another thing. I read that the PSP1000 has a hardware limitation up to 4GBs. Is this true?

I have an 8GB SanDisk Memory Stick Pro Duo.

The PSP reads it as 7762MB and it says it is MagicGate Supported. According to guides, this isn't fake.

But when I go into USB mode, my computer wants me to format it and says it is 3.58 GBs.

I googled the problem and I found that many other people have got this problem, but I haven't found the solution.

(One guy took one emory stick back to the retail store and exchanged it. They checked to see how much memory would show up and it came up to 7-something Gbs. But when he took it home and put it into his PC, it showed up as 3.58GB again).

I am running Windows XP.

Is there a solution to this?

Is my memory stick fake?

Or do I just need some drivers, since my Windows XP isn't regularly updated. (Its is Service Pack 2 and this is the first time my PC is trying to read a memory stick. The only drivers I have installed myself is only a graphics card driver and sound card driver.)

How is it cursed? Cursed to ancient hardware? Or do you mean that the 1000 will indefinitely kill it self. Cause that would be funny.

So, I just saw a SanDisk 8GB Memory Stick PRO Duo with MagicGate on eBay.

It was cheap, but when I looked on the description, it only described that it was a digital camera memory stick.

Yet, when I did some research, I gather that the PSP can use any type of Memory Stick, PRO, Duo, or PRO Duo with MagicGate on it.

So of I am not mistaken, I can use this type of Memory Stick on my PSP?

Because it Ratchet and Clank's strong point is its ridiculous yet awesome weapons. Haveiong the same thing takes that away. Yet I wouldn't mind bringing the Blitz Gun back. I like it far better than the Shock Blaster or Vulcan Cannon or the Concussion Gun.

Because some of the games that are on PSP are good.

Handful of Amazing games > Truckload of Mediocre ones

That's why I like my PSP
