The console has been rushed to make release before the end of the Japanese fiscal year to boost their profits. They also know there will always be people who will get the console day 1 regardless of how it turns out.
I don't see any point of getting the Switch U before Mario Odyssey comes out, when all the basic features will actually be accessible by then (plus possible bundles to make it better value).
