I'm a lifelong Console fan and owner, I've played and owned just about every home console that came on the market beginning with an atari 2600 back in 1984. I don't play games on my pc, for many reasons, one being
1. the constant upgrades you have to make in order to play the game
The biggest reason I don't play games on the pc is the mouse and keyboard.
I heard so many pc gamers speak about how the mouse and keyboard is the best thing since slice bread. I always wondered how would you go about playing a game with the mouse and keyboard. I played games on the pc back in the day, All we had then was maybe pong, tic tac toe and hangman. So being Old skool I feel those are the type of games that should be played on a pc.
Now I don't knock things until I atleast try it. So recently I went and got a game (one of my all time favs) to play on the pc. This game is Halo 1, I have vista and I heard vista has a lot of compatibly issues with some of the older games. So I choose Halo 1 to be safe, hey the company that made the game made the pc OS. So i coldn't go wrong, and I didn't. I finally got the chance to play with a mouse and keyboard with modern gaming. And I didn't like it, the mouse was ok, but i stil perfer a controller. The 360 has the best controller on the market, it fits perfectly into my hand and the weight is nice (on the wireless controller). I felt stupid playing on a keyboard, maybe it's just the old skool in me, but i've always played games with controllers, Arcade and home consoles.
My question to all who have tried and played with both, which do you like, 360 controller or keyboard and mouse.
I say Keyboards are for typing and a mouse is for moving your cursor across the screen. How in the world do you play games like Madden, 2K8 basketball and others using a keyboard??
FPS is my fav genre. Thats why the 360 is the console of choice for top rate fps
I would love to hear your thoughts.

I use the 360 controller on my PC for racing games and games like Tomb Raider, BUT the keyboard and mouse are ten times better than a controller can ever be fps and rts games.......
I dont think I need to explain why the k/m are better on Command and Conquere 3, that is pretty much a no brainer.
One of the main reasons k/m are better is for example jumping. Let's take Halo 3. In order to jump you have to take off your right thumb off of one of the sticks in order to jump. So when you are trying to jump and shoot at the same time constantly. It doesn't work out and aiming is very difficult. Also again to reload or to melee or action button you have to take your right thumb off of the right stick. Another hindrance. Whereas with my mouse I have 7 buttons I can program plus the mouse wheel to cycle through weapons very quickly without taking your hand off any movement controls.
Secondly, Halo 3 won't be a good example for this reason because you are limited to 2 weapons. Such games as Quake 4, FEAR, HL2, etc where you have more than 2 weapons, you can easily change them instantly with the number keys above, where as a console controller you have to cycle through every weapon.
I could go on and on, but nothing can be better than aiming with a mouse. The precision is unbelievable.
I used to think that the controller was the best, until I gave Doom 3 and HL2 a chance, at firstI couldn't stand the k/m, but by the time I beat Doom 3, the controller felt outdated on console games.
The k/m isn't something you can just pick up and use. It takes a lot of time to learn and get used to, but it is worth it.

Why is this question even being asked. Yo uget what you pay for. IF you buy a comptuer for the sme price as the 360 the nthe 360 might have better graphics. But IF yo uhave seen such games as Bioshock on high end PC compared to the 360 version. The PC makes the 360 version of bioshock look like it was on the a ps one or something like that - basically outdated grpahics.
Seriously I bought this game beat it on all difficulties by the way GREAT single player campaign. However the multiplayer is were this game didnt really impress me this is just way to easy all people do is run around moon jump and shoot their rifles. Seriously The multiplayer for this game was the most anticipated part of this game but it let me down:(. I guess i have to go back to gears for multi. Does anyone else share my opinon.

I think I know what he is trying to say. He is reffering the game itself as a learning curve, depth , and complexity. Which I agree with him.
I love the game, but it is a very basic game compared to other fps shooters. That is why this game so popular and sold so many copies, that anybody can pick up the game and learn to play in 2 minutes. Thats its appeal to the public.
You compare Halo 3 multiplayer to Battlefield 2, Quake Wars, or Team Fortress 2 Beta and there not even in the same league as far as depth and complexity.
(No analog, very light and flimsy feeling)
(Analog and rumble, first dual shock)
(Dual Shock 2, nuff said.)
(Sixaxis)
I would like to see a new controller, and I am not talking about adding rumble. When are they going to update the 12 year old controller that squeaks and flexes when you move your hands around, or in opposite directions. feels so cheap. L2, R2 buttons are terrible. You cant even play a racing game for more than 20 minutes without your fingers going numb. Just copy the 360 controller and get it over with. PS3 is the best system though.
I totally agree. Forza doesnt feel very life like at all or liek real racing. PGR3 is much more fun adn feels fast. great game catn wait for PGR4[QUOTE="NismoNissan41"][QUOTE="sinkyd1inky"]why do I still think pgr 3 is still the best racer on 360, it was a launch title whats up with msFUBAR24
are you kidding Forza is the ultimate realistic racer. PGR3 is just an arcade racer which is why it feels faster
and you have driven touring cars in the SCCA. SO you would know right.
I have been racing for 7 years now from karting, formula series to touring cars now(hence my username) The closest game to a real cars beleive it or not is PGR3 on the 360. Formula 1 CE on PS3 is another good one too.
