Well, in the USA there are definitely noise laws, but they are usually only enforced after 9Pm. I used to have an obnoxiously loud speaker system in my old car, and I got pulled over for it once. The cop I got just warned me, but I have had friends who got a ticket for it; I believe they have some kind of a decibel meter that they can actually pull out if need be.

Anyway, while it was certainly annoying when it happened to me, you cannot argue with it being illegal... I live in a city, and it can be pretty disruptive and aggrivating when someone's bass is reverberating through your house at night, especially when it's really late. Every time I hear one of those cars drive by I cringe a little knowing that I used to sound like that.

Now if only there was something I could do about the garbage trucks slamming around at 5Am..

Has anyone else noticed that virtually every single post defending Gamespot or it's staff is getting negative ratings? In addition to that any posts that vilify GS or CNET, or perpetuate certain conspiracies are getting ratings through the roof; I just don't understand what is going on around here...

You have to be logged in to rate a comment, so that means that hordes of actual GS users are going around slamming anyone that isn't standing in the lemming line waiting to walk off the cliff with them.

I noticed it first on my own posts of course, but then to be sure it wasn't just me rubbing people the wrong way I started looking around at other people's comments, and sure enough, anyone that doesn't take the word of a silly comic strip over the GS staff is getting the big thumbs down from droves of other users.

I realize this has been a pretty polarizing issue, but if these people so vehemently believe that this site has lost its integrity why are they still being such active participants in the community?

Maybe it's just my age, but I do not understand this behaviour... Someone please explain this to me.

On a side note to the Mods, if you feel that this should have been posted into one of the Gertmann threads I do apologize, but regardless of my opinions on the subject that may have trickled through here, I do believe this is a separate issue worthy of conversation.
