Yes, it is an amazing game for many reasons. Games like this don't come around often, it's a gem.I'm in love! She's beautiful. She's cute. She's funny. She's clever. She has great taste in music. And her name is Ni No Kuni.
My gods!! This could be the greatest game since the invention of chess! I could not recommend it more highly... and I was on the fence as to whether to buy it. I've been playing it all day and I'm completely sucked in. I'll probably be up all night!

Well look at the scores its getting, it is better, yes. The thing that worries me is that you found Valkyrie Chronicles dialog cringeworthy, but that's basically what all anime-like things are like. So for that part I suggest deciding on the dialog for yourself from some youtube videos or something. Other than that I WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend this game to you, though the combat system isn't fully turn based, it's like the 'Tales of' games. It is an amazing game in so many ways, as the game just came out, I can't tell you how grindy it is, I'm personally not worried about that because it wouldn't stop me either way from playing this masterpiece. To those who've played this game (might be a few days until people play it, but here goes):
I'm a fan of turn based RPG's, but I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with them. I loved Final Fantasy 9 (only one I've played so far). I've also played Eternal Sonata but found it too grindy. The story wasn't enough to keep me going. Then I tried Valkyria Chronicles but wasn't into the combat system. Also I found the dialog cringeworthy and slow.
What do you think my chances are of liking Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch? Is it comparable to the games I've mentioned; it is better? Looking for some input to decide whether to buy this or not. Thanks!

Also, I'd recommend going to the GameFAQS forums, its flooded with 201 pages of Ni No Kuni topics. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/998014-ni-no-kuni-wrath-of-the-white-witch
This is actually pretty good. It would be better if you shot faster because like someone else said on the app review, by the time you get your guns shooting fast, your ship dies very quickly from the higher level enemies and the enemies seem to come in the same patterns. I couldn't tell if there was a pause button but that would also be a nice addition. Otherwise its a great start, and a fantastic free app because the controls work well and its looks good.
The forums always work on my end, an app would be nice to have though.[QUOTE="Nophoria88"][QUOTE="kraken2109"]
Half the time the forums don't even work, you think they could make an app?!

You can't have been here long then, never seen bonk?
Why assume? I've been coming here since 08, last time I got a "Bonk" page was long enough ago for me not to remember when it was."this Ni No kuni game or whatever" Lol.id get DMC. i dont know why everyone is so excited over this Ni No kuni game or whatever. i was actually hoping they would release a nice mature JRPG since they haven't done that in a while but this game is just another one of those wierd anime types fighting marshmallows and what not. i just can't get myself to play something that childish anymore.

"i was actually hoping they would release a nice mature JRPG" Who are "they"? The game industry as a whole?!
Ni No Kuni by far, it's unique, has lots of content and it's a polished RPG that this gen has been lacking.

Interesting.
And you're not located in North America, right?
I'm in the US and I can download/play Japan demos with a created Japan account. Tried out Yakuza 5 the other day as well as Metal Gear Rising.
