I'm not really planning on renting. Doesn't the PS+ card give you straight downloads, not rentals? :s

p4s2p0

Long as you remain a plus member. Which is why I would see it as rental too.

Yup, I mentioned it before for this reason.

Yeah, here's "free" games, you can play them as long as you pay us monthly. Honestly it's more a rental than ownership, you'd be better off with a Gamefly subscription that way you can play whichever game you desire.

Thanks. Which would you recommend then. I tend slightly towards rpgs. I have dragons dogma already.

ristactionjakso

None of them.

If you like RPG's buy Valkyria Chronicles. Awesome overlooked ps3 tactic, rpg, third person shooter exclusive. Some things about the main character can be cheesy and dorky, but the gameplay is solid and building up your little army unit is great.

This is also a great choice.

Well I'm not sure your tastes but the ones I think are "worth" it are in my sig. I take into consideration the price of games, like I think Jak & Daxter for 15, Sly for 10, Darksiders II for 30 are "worth" the price of admission, all three games for less than a brand new one. But not taking price into consideration, I think Darksiders II is a pretty epic game, I think if you have a friend to play Borderlands 2 with it's also a great choice. The vocal minority hates CoD, but it's a great accessible online multiplayer.

Um, Okami HD is really good, I can't speak for some of the ones I found interesting that are in my sig because I haven't played them yet, but I think there are a ton of games on the cheap that you can pick up these days. I tried out Far Cry 3, I was sorely let down when I actually played it because of the laggy frame rate, it's "fun" but it really needs some AA and better frame rate lol. Ni No Kuni if you're into RPG's comes out in Jan. and there's a demo up.

Need some help folks deciding on a game. I can buy one game and my current options are the following

- AC3

- Dishonored

- Ratchet and clank HD trilogy.

I have played ratchet and clank on my ps2, and there a lot of nostalgia there. Played all of the assassin creed games so far and have enjoyed them all. What do you guys think? I am gravitating towards the Ratchet and clank collection. (my ps2 disc laser burnt out, so no way to play these now)

I honestly wouldn't buy any of them. AC3 has a pretty world, but dull overall story, Dishonored was fun, but it's a niche title and short, then I personally felt like Ratchet and Clank was the series that least needed an HD remake considering they're still putting out sequels. If I HAD to choose one, I would go with AC3 due to the amount and overall quality of that content + multiplayer, however there are better games to choose imo.

Dragons Dogma, it's not as large as Skyrim but it is free roam, enemies respawn, lots of cool armors/weapons, and you can choose whichever class you'd like to be, there is only one big city with people to interact with but other little rest stops/forts along the way and the starting town, it won't disappoint for what you're looking for. To top it off, it has much better combat than the elder scrolls and is 3rd person so you can appreciate all that cool armor you get.

Thanks, this sounds great :) anyone know anything about Two Worlds II ? this one seems to also show interest in me as well

Yeah, it has everything you're looking for, except the game itself isn't of good quality, same thing with Kingdom of Amalur.

thread is ancient

PetJel
Lol. As a side note, KoA sucks so much from the demo, the controls are HORRID, the camera is wonky even after tightening it up, I really don't see how this game scored an 8, it's so bad in every way, even if things were fixed from the demo the game is so generic and boring feeling. Dragons Dogma is a gem though, you'd be a fool to miss it, it's on the Gamespots chief editors personal top 5 GOTY for a reason. Kingdoms is just..

Oh darn. I was hoping I could use a 3DS to play gba games. :(

RasAlgethi28
Well after the lite models the DS even stopped playing GBA games, you're lucky the 3DS is fully backwards compatible with the DS.

I don't know if you know but once your PS+ subscription ends you can't play the games downloaded from it anymore.
