Yes, you can. Just add a new USER, register it to a different email (even a fake one), and Bob's yer uncle. All DLC, PSN games, etc will be available. Trophies and current game progress/ online XP are the only thing you'll be missing. But if you just want a different name to play online games, for example, it's that easy. You'll start from scratch with all XP in whatever games you're playing, but man-up... It's "Replay Value".

;)

Haha, so true. I restarted when I was at level 7 so that sucked not having past games on my track record :( but it gives a reason to play Journey again. Even with losing my trophy list, I'm much happier having changed my username than to go around with a name I hated.

PS3 has the best exclusives of which there are many, HD remake exclusives, best online service, it's a blu-ray player & rechargable controllers. It's the one console you SHOULD have lol. God of War, Uncharted, inFamous, Yakuza, Ni No Kuni, The Last of Us & Sly 4 are just a handful of very different games that are either out or coming out soon, just ask yourself if you want to play them.

I want to get into this series and I'm either going to start with 3 or 4 but I'm unsure (Dead Souls looks fantastic to me because I'm not really into brawling, but can live with it, but I love the culture + zombies). I just don't want to get burnt out on doing the same things by starting from 3 then playing 4 after, but I'm most concerned that the story in 4 and Dead Souls won't make sense? Will the story theater in 4 suffice or is it absolutely necessary to play 3 to enjoy the story in 4 and onwards?

I've googled this and found the differences between the games out, such as some missing content and a second area in 3 vs the rooftops etc. in the 4th. I can see myself never touching 3 again if I have 4 and Dead Souls, so if I really don't have to buy it I'd rather not. If anyone can help me out here with some advice it'd be great. Thanks.

Damn, take it to messages, no one cares who is wrong or right. Also, MARIO doesn't feel different

[QUOTE="gamenerd15"]

[QUOTE="DoctorWho88"] Well this is a heated debateglitch2424

Not really. I was just responding to what the poster said. Why bother posting a response at all if you are not going to go into details? The poster had criticisms against a few games, and I tried to answer them. I could have been a bit nicer about it, but the poster's criticsm against Uncharted could be used for any game, so it does not hold that much weight. If a person believes that a game is not good because it uses the same core mechanics over and over again for the entire franchise, then I would say that this person should just quit playing games as a whole. He or she is going to find that sequels do tend to use the same core mechanics as the original game. This is due to the fact that the original game is where everything was put into place. Developers are not going to start from scratch for every iteration of a franchise. I cannot think of one franchise that does not reuse some mechanics in its sequels. I would love to know if such a franchise exists.

Ugh, big wall of text. I'll put it nice and sweet:

1) That statement that you can use that for any franchise is false. Mario always did something differently, and the 2d and 2.5d mario games feel totally different in terms of control and gameplay type. Super mario 1 (SM1) was very basic run and jump, SM3 added ALOT more powers that totally changed up the gameplay (eg, flying?), which added more room for tranversal and degrees of freedom. SMW added yoshi and different controls as well to how mario flies and handles (eg, running up walls, floating, fence climbinb [where mario will be hanging middair on a gate], sucking up things with yoshi [ie, totally eliminating a sprite from the field-of-view only to reintroduce the sprite as bullet back into the game world]). Same with Halo series, a big relevant shooter. Halo 1: innovative interms of gameplay mechanics, such as introducing unique weapons that act differently, and reintegrating melee attacks and vehicle handing in console games. It was the first to introduce a really EXCELLENT AI that made the player react instead of getting reacted to, making all the game mechanics mentioned above all the more significant. Halo 2: introduced dual wielding, and the "innovative" regenerating shield that changed the flow of combat, and a higher jump that introduced some platforming elements. Halo 3: refined all the rest of the gameplay mechanics, including how you CONTROL dual wielding. Hi, I'm a REAL game designer, and I'll be your guide that will show you how to REALLY analyze games, instead of using a general statement "ohhh that argument can be used for any game!".

Seriously, we're comparing innovation of 2D Mario to Uncharted? How about compare what the 3D Mario's did differently (in the same console generation no less)rather than the 2D ones that were releasing at a time when you could add just about anything at that point and call it innovative.

10 more bucks and you could have gotten the entire MGS Collection online if you shopped around.

If you have a friend to play with, Borderlands 2. If you're playing by yourself, Black Ops 2. I played Borderlands 2 entirely with my gf and it was great, thinking about it solo seems like it would have been a lonely experience in comparison, it's built with co-op in mind.

[QUOTE="gametradersf"]First of all, let me make it clear that I am an absolute PS3 fan. I have an Xbox 360 as well simply because I wanted Kinect so badly last Christmas. Anyway, I just want to make a point that Sony seems to be losing steam on the PS3 console. The latest iteration of the console, PS3 Super Slim (should call it PS3 Mini), seems to further prove that point. While I would like to see another blockbuster game on PS3, 2012 seems to offer very little. The best game I have played so far in 2012 is Uncharted 3 which is by the way a 2011 release. As for PS Move, it is even more upsetting to know that there are so few games supporting that controller. And to add on, the price is not making it any more palatable for consumer. This holiday season, Sony has yet to offer anything to entice me. Sure PS Vita is cool, but what about PS3 gamers? Have you forgotten about us? I myself have been hitting on my Xbox more often then my PS3 now. Sony, please give me more reasons to continue being a PS3 fan please? I love the PS3 and would like to love the PS4 (if it is coming out next year). Sony, hope you can hear me and do something about this console that I have loved since I got my first Playstation One more than 15 years ago?clr84651

No one who plays the Wii or 360 is a True PS3 Fan!!!

You're either a PS Fan, a X Fan, a Nint Fan, a PC Fan, or you're a Gaming Fan (plays more than one of these)

[QUOTE="CaIypzo"][QUOTE="finalserenade75"]

Jak & Daxter, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, InFamous 1/2, God of War III, Dragon Age: Origins, Assassin's Creed II, Final Fantasy XIII, Mass Effect 1/2/3, Ratcher & Clank Future: Crack in Time, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Enslaved, Heavenly Sword, Darksiders I/II, Uncharted 1/2/3.

finalserenade75

Hmm... Thanks for such a list, men! About Dragon Age: Origins... Will i miss alot if i buy the second without playing Origins? And about the list... If you can only pick 3 of them... Wich one? And if its the second or third part, tell me if i need to play the previous parts to. Thanks!

You would miss quite a bit if you play II without playing Origins. Many people, myself included, believe that Origins is the superior one anyway so buy that one instead. II was very fun all around though, so while you may miss some things about the game, playing it by itself should still be loads of fun.

As for what 3 I would choose: Jak & Daxter Collection (you get 3 games in 1, and they're all fantastic), Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Assassin's Creed II. You can get these games for 20 bucks (or less) each.

I also forgot to mention Dishonored and Hitman: Absolution.

I really don't think you need to play the first to play the second, but I agree the first is better, though the second had combat I enjoyed more. I'd also agree that Darksiders II, Jak & Daxter and the inFamous games are great single player games.

Well I personally didn't like FC3 as much as I thought I would after trying a relatives copy, the frame rate is ugly, like wow I wasn't expecting that choppiness kinda ugly. Black Ops 2 has a ton of game modes online plus zombies, can't go wrong with it if you enjoy online shooters as I consider it the best CoD since it caters to my taste.
