I'll admit I'm a bit disappointed. Hoping they keep the P2W options down a fair bit. 

to me , the only reasons someone would game on a console is

 

1) cant afford a gaming pc.

2) not knowledgeable about how to build a gaming pc and has no friends that can.

3) children that want to game obviously cant build a gaming pc, so they have to get a console, so mommy and daddy gets one for little Timmy.

4) the very rare few good exclusives. To this day the only exclusive that looks good for consoles isnt even out yet, and thats the LAST OF US. We dont even know if its going to be a good game.     Gears of war flopped, god of war flopped, halo is no where near what it once was before...

All the best games right now are  Multiplats..     Call of duty, Battlefield 3, Bioshock, Farcry 3, batman,tomb raider, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc

Thats all i can see as reasons to get a console.  Basically you have to be either a KID or POOR. 

 

 

 

I also really find it funny that console gamers think console games equals money for the publisher and pc should be written off as piracy.     That is an absolute joke.       There hasnt been a single console game exclusive released in the last 3 years that has even sold more than 2.5 million copies...

 

PC exclusives get treated very well by their loyal fan base.    Just look at diablo 3.. 12 million copies sold.     World of warcraft = over 12 million players and 9 million that are still suscribed every month to this day.

Idiotic console fanboys. There is a reason why so much games keep releasing on pc despite piracy, BECAUSE ITS PROFITABLE FOR THE DEVELOPER. and do note that everytime sales figures are mentioned for console games, they never include digital sales, which is the dominate distribution platform for the pc....

 

PC has the largest gaming base, and with a big industry shift to FREE TO PLAY.  PC is the best platform for that, because it reaches the widest amount of players and games dont go incompatible at the end of a consoles lifetime.

This guy runs BF3 at Ultra with a higher res and almost the same specs as me (except the CPU, which is of a lower speed). I don't mind running the game at medium, but there's no way I could squeeze high?

At a res of 1440 x 900? Obviously not expecting AA or anything like that.

reading temps won't work at all for me when i unlock the remaining core on my x3 so i would think it messes with sensor data and i'd tend to not trust those figures. what readings did you get with just the stock 2 cores? and what are you getting with the new heatsink?

coincidentally motherboards have a safety mechanism that will switch off the system when cpu's get above a certain threshold, did you turn this off?

I'm not quite sure what the readings were with the dual core. I never bothered checking, as the system appeared to ran cool and the fan's never got loud. Never played with the thermal settings on the BIOS either, but I'm sure there was a safety mechanism present.

With the old heatsink I was getting anywhere from 38 to 52 celcius idle, and under load 80 celcius to edging over 100 celcius. Now I idle at about 27 celcius (on average), and I never go above 45 celcius under load (with Prime95). So I'm pretty pleased.

I should mention that the new heatsink is a CM Hyper212 Plus+. Huge ass heatsink, I had a horrible time getting it installed on my motherboard and in my case (mid-size). But it works fine now.
