There's a lot of talk going around that Halo 3 is crap compared to The Orange Box.

Let's get this straight. TOB has so many different games in it, that it got a 9.5 for its content. Do you think that any of those games alone could have gotten a 9.5?

HL2? No, the first one didn't even get that.

HL2 Eps 1&2? Nope, both are too short.

TF2? Ha, with 6 maps, an unoriginalclass-based system and zero customization, I think not.

Portal? Hooray for puzzle games....:?

It is all of those put together that make it a 9.5 worthy package. Now lets compare that with Halo 3's modes:

A variably long campaign depending on difficulty (trust me you can make it extremely brutal with skulls) that is as diverse as it is exciting (Halo 3 has the biggest battle in videogame history: 2 Scarabs - need I say more?) and with a replayability level that has made it very exciting for me the third time through, Halo 3's sp campaign (or MP campaign ;)) is unrivaled even by its predecessors. Worthy of a 9.0 if it shipped by itself, no question.

The MP in Halo 3 is utterly unmatched. The clean interface, the spot-on gameplay; everything feels so nice and pristine. Halo iseasily the most prestigous console shooter series ever, and the consistently rated games tend to agree. With unrivaled on consoleor PC matchmaking, Halo's ranked game and party system are always light years ahead of anything else. Then comes custom games, with the Forge and Saved Films... it it just an unparralled experience in Halo 3 MP. No question this deserves a 9.5 on its own.

No lets look at what we know: TOB shipped with a bunch of pretty good games. Halo 3 shipped with 2 unbelievably high quality features. Only through a combination of those 5 games could TOB ever have been rated so high. None of those games by themselves could match Halo 3. The multiplayer isn't deep enough, and the campaign isn't replayable enough. Plain and simple. Halo 3 >>>>>> TOB by a very large margin.

Half Life 2(and everything in Orange Box) is better than Halo 3. I would even put the original Half Life 's campaign ahead of Halo 3. That's just personal preference. I own Halo 3, and it's fun, but not that amazing. Great game, but not Half Life caliber IMO

no, you get to fully customize the face, I think the vid is somewhere on IGN. It looks awesome, the creators said they were able to re-creat George Bush's face in the game.

Yeah seemed a lot like God of War, and Heavenly Sword, except for you could block in Conan. I really did not like Heavenly Sword's gameplay, I actually thought some things in conan should have been implemented into heavenly sword's fighting. It's not a good game...just not terrible...

You ever play KOTOR? This is what this is game is going to be like, except with a totally revamped combat system. This game looks AMAZING. KOTOR was a story driven game where you work your way through several planets, and is one of my favorites RPG's to date (yes, I've played lot of other RPG's, JRPG's don't interest me though). Mass Effect will be AAA easy, quote me.

why doesnt pdz count? it got AAA here when it first came out, halo3 and graw and forza if you dont count the pc/360 exclusive which i dont know why you would we are talking about 360vsps3

and you sound kind of biased to me, well the part about paying for XBL, because currently XBL does have a better online service than PS3's, and anyone who has played both would know, so for now, the payments are justified.
