I am currently a broke student so I bought my comp and have no intention of upgrading for quite a while. I tried to future proof it a bit, I can run Crysis 1 at max settings and 2x AA. At 1680x1050 (native)
agreed, ppl dont understand. gaming is all about the GPU, an i5 and 4 gigs of RAM is good enough. I would say if you really want a little more than 4 just get 6 itsplenty,I have and I can run shogun 2 with all settings maxed ez.
I mean what ur talking about now is well above ur absolute cap, two 6970's will definatly rape anything on the market now higher res too but it really depends on what u wanna spend.
Oh and to the hex core question that is pointless for a gaming comp, ur games wont utialize that I have an i7 and its over kill, i5 is perfect for gaming, it saves u money and wont really bottleneck ur pc. The GPU is the most important thing so if u really have a cap save ur cash on the CPU and get the best performing GPU for ur money.
I just last year had a good experience with cyberpower pc. its a little more cuz they build it for you if ur lazyand ive heard some bad experiences but mines great. came all nice and put together with zip ties on the cables and what not.
