[QUOTE="ferelden"]just make sure to get anything nvidia cuz amd really fallen off the cliff and the company due to collapse with their 13 straight quarters of net loss margin ouchjedikevin2

This is like the 10th thread of random AMD hate... AMD made you mad or something bro?

590 is a beast in performance but you gonna be paying a significant premium TC.

People cant handle that Radeons are better than geforces... it shocked me too, I had an ATI card back in the day and the drivers were **** and i swore off them and only had nvidias then about half a year ago when i was looking for apc i was shocked to find that ATI's are better so i decided to get one and ive never looked back since... its great and the drivers are fine no problems ppl just dont wanna accept it. The fact that AMDs processors still arent as good as intels dosent help but their GPUs are great.

I'll admit that Windows 7 is better than Vista, having a ton of experience with both. I have Win 7 on my laptop and Vista X64 on my desktop. However, there isn't enough difference between the 2 for someone to say that Windows 7 is great and Vista sucks. Windows 7 is built directly off Vista, and is essentially the same OS with a few tweaks, a few more bells and whistles, and a new paintjob.

ya i think vista had a few problems when it first came out and that tainted it forever, vista is a perfectly good OS now ive used it for the past3 years and can hardly tell the difference on my desktop with win 7.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125356

ATI Radeon HD 6950 2GB $244 with rebate

I would get this GPU. Its anawesome card, itcrossfire and overclocks very well if you want more performance down the road. Better for future than nvidia too cuz it does DX11 better and has lower powedrain.

Also http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7195036&body=MAINthis PSU would supply you fine and even with 2 6950s in crossfire down the road.

nice good cooling fan with 80% efficiency, SLI certified, but no modular cable, i more like modular cable, it's easy to manage.gumeh

i use zip ties to keep everything orderly so i like saving money with the non modular PSU

[QUOTE="Obiwan_1O"]

the only thing im worried about is both these PSUs only have 2 PCIe connectors so if i wanna go with dual GPUs at some pointis that at all possible with these? ive calculated the watts and they provide enough power but i dont see how i could connect them

acsam12304

most higher end GPUs come with molex to 6 pin PCI-e power cable. or you can look for them on newegg.

thanks alot man, this forum is great :)
