[QUOTE="senses_fail_06"][QUOTE="kevy619"]Ouch, but I saw it coming. Most reviews are AA. I just cant resist rubbing in that Gears (year old console game) > UT3. Hermits deserve to have it rubbed in as well. While we are at it, console shooters > pc shooters now on average. :)kevy619

I'm sure hermits truely devasted, especially considering they have the superior of both. Oh and standards .

Hermits are too stubborn/arrogant to even realize the truth.

Your lemming angst is overflowing. Also yes, amongst PC FPS gamers, console FPSes are of a lower standard. In the time it takes you to move your reticle just to aim at someone's general direction, a mouse and keyboard setup could've killed two people, vastly increasing the necessity of fast reaction time and precision aim. When you die or kill someone in a console shooter, you see it coming from miles away. With a PC shooter, you can die at any moment if you slip up, leading to a much more intense game. Whether or not one or the other is more fun is a personal opinion, but some people just prefer games where skill is displayed more prominently.

if you say so... thats just preference of a contol input. Not a different standard of video game.

Well yes, but (at least back in the old days) the game was usually built with the control scheme in mind. Things like run speed, reticle size, hitbox size...etc are all vastly different. Just compare UT, Quake, or Counter strike to Halo or killzone.

Some of the games are just good, really. Also, I see no reason why they'd be biased towards PC, this site is overrun with consolites, who are their main source of ad revenue.

This is good news for Sony, but really now, if the Wii had enough units to be able to fullfill the current demand, it would be outselling every other console by way more than it already is now.

The increasing dev costs and subsequently shorter games is definitely taking its toll on the genre.

You'll never convince the fanboys of that. Anyways, as for next year, starcraft 2 (if it comes out in 2008) is all that matters. If it manages to surpass the first (not likely) or even match the first (decent possibility), you can pretty much declare that PC gamers have won the decade.

SMG, no other game is as refined as it is. Granted I'll probably end up playing orange box more than any of those that you listed, but my money's still on SMG.

If Microsoft and Sony continue the direction they are going, then yes, home consoles will die and be replaced by a stripped down PC, except you pay extra for royalties to those respective companies.

It totally depends on the genre you're playing. Like for example, I have no idea who would want to use the wii mote for a fighting game like SSBB.

Every PC shooter has some twitch shooting. Unlike with analogue sticks, you don't have to wait 2 seconds just for your reticle to be placed on someone. CS is just very "stop and pop" style, while quake and UT are "fly around the map destroying everything you see" style.
