Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn quick review

...Well, actually, it's more of a blog post about me absolutely disagreeing with Gamespot's review on this game. First of all, I'm not doen this game, and I've been playing for 20 hours, and I know I've still got ways to go. This game is by far the most addicting game I've played in a long time. I absolutely love it. So now I'm going to point out what's wrong with GS's review on this game. I'll first look at their demerits.

Bad First Impressions

No. Simply put, no. The open cutscene of this game is absolutely awesome, and the Prologue is a nice opening to the game. In terms of the game as a whole, this game isn't the best one in the series for newcomers (I would say FE7 is), but I don't see how it could leave a bad impressions. Maybe it's because I'm more of a veteran to the series, but honestly, I strongly disagree with this demerit.

Punishing Difficulty

This game is challenging and overall harder than previous FE games, though come on Gamespot! Have you guys became a bunch of **** or something?! "Even Easy is extremely tough." I'm playing through easy right now, and though it isn't what I would define as "Easy", it is not extremely tough. Again, maybe it's because I've already been with this series for a while, though some parts are just unloseable on Easy. As for Hard, it does get rather punishing, though what do you expect? If you're a veteran, you should know that the Hard setting is always punishing, and if you're new, you should know that the Hard setting is not easy. Overall, this game is challenging, but not to a point that it deserves this demerit.

Weak Storyline

This game's storyline is not the best in the series, though it by no means whatsoever is a weak storyline. "Laughable plot; Terribly storyline" Gamespot, what the hell were you smoking?!?!?!?!?! The story is suspenseful, it's engaging, it's relatable, and it certainly is not laughable. That's pretty much al that you would want from a storyline! Again, it isn't a highpoitn in the series, but it aint a down point.

This is honestly one of the worst reviews by Gamespot that I've seen (along with Mario Kart 64). I strongly disagree with it. I know that reviews are opinions (I'm a reviewer, I should know), however, what really irks me is that in a sea of mediocrity games for the Wii, you throw out another score like that, and another quality game will be overlooked. Also, my opinion isn't in the minority. A lot of player reviews show their disgust in Gamespot's abysmal review. If you are a professional review, you have to make your reviews as unbiased as possible. They try to make it look like they did, but honestly, I could very easily disagree with a lot of the points. Now, I do believe the developers could've done a better job with the game, but the game is far better than a lot of the games on the Wii. Also, I do agree that this isn't the best game for newcomers (which is what the Wii is looking for: newcomers), but it's still a very good game. A true gamer and not some **** kids will be willing through play through this game. Unfortunately, the numbers of the latter are growing, especially on the Wii, with all the casual gamers. Even so, I still think this is a great game, and I repeat, it is by far the most addicting game I've played in a long time. If you like Strategy games and own a Wii, I strongly recommend this game to you. If not, well, then obviously no. If you're a newcomer, maybe you should like at another game from the series (like FE7... all the FE games are very similar, though Radiant Dawn is a little on the tough side, especially for newcomers).

Gamespot's Score: 6.0

My current Score: 8.5

Wii Want Quality!!!

Super Mario Galaxy just came out. According to pretty much everyone, that game is amazing. Metroid Prime 3 was also a pretty good game, according to what I hear. Alright, anything else good? Oh wait, there was that one game called Zack and Wigi... or was it Wiki?... that I hear is pretty good. Though I hear that fromthe few people who actually played the game. Those people are a distinct minority. Too bad, because if Zack & Wiji or whatever is a good quality game, then it's being overlooked. I just went to my local rental store hoping to check this game out which I'm hearing (from the few) that it is being criminally over-shadowed, and I find out that it certainly is being over-shadowed... Cause the store didn't have the game. In the spot where the game should be, I see countless mediocre titles. Disappointed that I might be missing a real quality game, I decide to rent a new release from a series I love (Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn). That game got a 6.0 from GS, and from the 2 hours I spent playing it, I can already tell that GS was really off the ball with this one. I truly am satisfied with the game... Though what about Zack & Wiki (did I finally get it right???)? Is it a Silver Rupee lost in the Great Sea of Mediocrity? (Wind Waker reference)

The Wii... I've said this many times already... Could be the greatest system of all time. Though if keeps on getting flooded withmediocrity, it could turn out to be another Nintendo system with the status of the GC, only with motion-sensing controls. There is a thing called the Nintendo Seal of Quality... Yeah, that's acutally what it's called, the Seal of Quality... What a joke! They pretty much slap that on every game as long as it isn't like Big Rigs. That thing should instead be called the "Nintendo Seal of Not Being as Much of a Rip-off as Big Rigs." Big Rigs, if you don't know, is probably the biggest rip-off ever. It was an uncomplete failure (as opposed to Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on the NES, which was absolutely abysmal, but the game was at least finished... meaning that it was a complete failure). So as long as your game isn't as glitchy as Big Rigs, you can easily get your game on the Wii, and if you want to earn some cash in the process, just put a nice description on the back cover and slap a nice fancy title that will attract those casual gamers whom can entice to knavery easier than oil exploding with an inferno on top of it. Then go buy a nice new fancy couch, sit back, relax, and enjoy watching money flood into your bank account.

Meanwhile, Capcom, a company known for making uber-quality games like Mega Man and Resident Evil and the Oracle Zeldas, jump into the mud, and try to produce somethign that the Wii is lacking. Take a wild guess as to what it is. ...If you guessed quality, you would be correct. When they decided to import Resident Evil 4 to the Wii, they improved it vastly (according to many). They didn't just slap on some silly motion-sensing controls to earn a quick buck. Then they decided to go out and try something new. Instead of sitting back on their success, they took some time and decided to make another quality game to clear some of that "Mediocre Mud" from the Wii's Great Sea of Games. They created Zack & Wiki (yes, got it right twice in a row, woohoo), and according to Pierst, it kicks ass. Though did it clear some of the pollution in the Wii's library? Nope. It just simply sunk below that mud, and became completely over-shadowed. Since it isn't the most appealing of games, very few are willing to actually dive into the sea and pull out the game. What a shame!

Now back to the Seal of Quality. Why did Nintendo name it that and slap onto all of those mediocre titles? Well, they too want to earn some quick bucks. They're also a business. You can't expect them to be so saintly. Especially not in the kind of world we live in today. So you can't blame them... Wait a second, yes you could! Now back to my repeated statement: "The Wii is potentially the greatest system of all time." However, Nintendo is allowing all those mediocre games itno such a great system, and it's ruining their amazing creation. As great as the Wii is, it is being looked down upon the ones who are keeping the industry alive: the hardcore gamers. It's great and all that Nintendo is trying to expand the market, to get more people into gaming, to make more money for themselves, to go back on top of the industry... Though what is happening could ultimately lead to their demise. Three things can happen:

1. 3rd party developers actually begin making more qaulity games, Nintendo listens to us true gamers, and overall, the Wii climbs onto top of the console war, taking Nintendo to the top of VG ladder.

2. Nintendo does nothing to change for the rest of this generation, and the Wii ultimately becomes another N64 or GC.

3. Same as the above, except some thigns go very wrong, and because Nintendo in a way neglected their true loyal fans, they end up dropping so low, they would eventually have to quit.

Now, #3 may seem a little extreme, but anything is possible. It's mostly up to Nintendo to try to clear up the "Mediocre Mud" to please us loyal fans, and to ultimately save this amazing system. I'm hoping #1 happens, and it very well could. Though so could #2, and #3 is possible as well. I only hope Nintendo sees the potential disater. Though the problem is, they are at the moment being very successful, and I highly doubt they're going to change much. We can only hope that some more 3rd Parties try to do what Capcom is trying to do, and that Nintendo continues making amazing games. Though the 3rd Party could ultimately decide the fate of not only the Wii, but of Nintendo's future.

PS: Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, according to my first hour of experience, is a very good game. If you want a challenging strategy game, go ahead and at least rent it. I'm really wondering where that 6 popped up from when GS was reviewing the game. Maybe it's because they were becoming too usedto mediocrity on the system...

PS 2: Due to my great grades (posted in the below blog post), I got Honor Roll with Distinction! That pretty much certifies that I will be getting SMG by the end of this year.

PS 3: At least the Wii isn't bankrupting Nintendo like the PS3 is really afecting Sony's sales. That system could really end up disastrous for them. Though it is starting to gain a little bit of ground in recent times...

Life Update

I haven't posted a blog in a while, and a few things have happened. First of all, I got my report card last week. It was very good, so I'm willing to post my marks up here.

English- 92%

I expected this. The subject is rather easy, and I got an English award last year (plus 100% on my final).

Active Living- 92%

To do good in that class, all you have to do is try. That's what I do very well, and I've actually become a rather popular person in that class because of it. It's overall a really fun class.

Computer Studies [Digital Design]- 92%

For that unit, we had to design a website using Adobe Flash CS3. I already have expereince with flash, so it was no problem for me.

Mechanics [Electrical Fundamentals]- 86%

A bunch of stuff I already knew, but some of our work stations got rather tricky.

Religious Studies- 80%

I absolutely have no care whatsoever in this subject. As long as I pass, I'll be fine with that.

Electro-Tech [Electro-Assembly]- 75%

Geez this course is tough as ****!!! And it's only getting harder! A few classes ago (in the current unit which isn't counted to this grade), we had to learn about the Binary, Octal, Decimal (well, not really learn, since this system is the one us humans use), and Hexidecimal numbering systems. We also had to be able to convert between them (ex: 101 [Binary] = 5 [Decimal]). We also had to learn about programming, and we also learned about how graphics are generated in videogame systems (so don't mess with me now if you're going to be talking about graphics, cause I'll absolutely own you). In this past unit (which is the one that grade is counted), we had to design a circuit board entirely from scratch. My circuit board, even though had the least components, was no fun. At one part, I had to drill 4 holes in 3 mm of space using a .7 drill bit. That meant that I had fit in 2.8 mm within 3 mm without having to touch each other. The margin of error was under .1 mm (which, if you don't know, is very very very very very small). I had a hell of a time with that. Though the unit is very interesting, and out of all of my courses this semester, I learned the most in this one so far.

So overall, I'm very happy with my grades. Also, because of those grades, I got a new guitar amp! So since I don't have any money for new games, I spend my time blasting my walls off!:D Also, I can translate all of the ocarina songs on OoT (and the Song of Healing in MM, my most favourite one) to my guitar.

Also, it is almost guaranteed that I will be getting Super Mario galaxy by the end of this year. I don't have a job or any money to buy it myself, so I'll be getting it as a Christmas present. I'd rather be getting it on Tuesday (which is when the game is released here), but the more you wait for something, the more awesome it will be (like my GC with LoZ: WW and SSBM).

Classic Gaming Trend: Hard Sequels

When I take a look at all of the classic series, I see one thing. The sequels always seem harder. Lets take a look at this.

Super Mario Bros. This is a prime example (well, Mario is a prime series). The first SMB was a pretty tough game. However, it's sequel was so hard that it neverleft Japanesesoil until All-Star package on the SNES. I've played a bit of the Lost Levels, and holy ****it'stough. I recently wrote a review on Silver Sulfer, a game that is hard to a fault. Was SMB 2 hard to a fault? Possibly. That's why we got Doki Doki Panic instead.

Legend of Zelda. Same as SMB, except that the sequel did leave Japan. The first LoZ was pretty tough, but that was mostly due to navigation. It was hard to find your way through that game. Well, AoL was a little easier in navigation since it was a touch more straight forward (though you never did get pointed in any direction), but holy ****, the game was a hundred times tougher. This is will probably the only Zelda game where an Armos Knight can kill you with ease... And there's quite a few of them in the first temple.

Castlevania. The first one wasa classic vampire-killing game. The second was as well... Except it was considerably tougher in some areas. Every while it would go to night, and with your curse, you would be screwed. All the enemies would be tougher, you couldn't visit any shops or anything, and if you die, you lose all of the hearts that you need to buy certain items. Plus there is the fact that some items were ridiculously expensive. Then there is that one wall where you have to do somethign that you probably would almost never guess... The only thing about the game is that the last dungeon and boss is pathetically easy. Though the rest of the game is pretty damn tough.

Back then, develpers would make a hard game, and if it was popular enough, they would make a sequel and it would be even harder. That's the way it was. Nowadays, it's the opposite. Games are getting easier and easier. There are exceptions, and I like those exceptions. Metroid Prime 2 was harder than MP1. Super Mario Sunshine was harder than SM64. MM was harder than OoT. Though nowadays, games are cosndierably getting easier. Where is the difficulty running off to in Zelda? Nowdays, the option of difficulty levels are easy to do... Why don't they do it? It will attract more people. Like in Zelda, there should be an easy, medium, and hard mode. Easy being WW level, hard being almost AoL level... Well, okay the level difference might be a little too much there, but still, they should do it. Same with every other game. It just makes it so much better. I'm hoping in SMG, there will be easy stars to get and hard stars like in SM64, but not to the level of annoyance in Sunshine.

3 Stars, Side-kick MVP, Madden 08 Stupidity, SSBB WiFi

Well, I got a few mid-week updates that I would like to post.

First of all, I finally achieved the 3 Star Rank on MKDS. I did this on Saturday or Sunday night I believe. It does feel rewarding just looking at the Records screen and seeing those 3 stars there.

My experience with MSC has been actually a bit disappointing, but I won't get into that this post. Though the one thing that really annoys me is those champion series. The Fire Cup was a piece of cake, but screw Diddy Kong! The arena is cheap as hell, andDiddy has the most cheapest special attack I've ever seen. I at one point had no players on the field (excpet for my goalie, who was completely helpless). I mean, what the hell is up with that?! Though I'll be more descriptive on that later on this week. Anyways, here is my line-up: Luigi (C), Hammer Bro, Shy-Guy, and Dry Bones. I wish the game would give more credit towards the side-kicks. Luigi has been awesome, but my side-kicks have been unsung heroes in the game. Especially Dry Bones. I nominate him for the greatest side-kick ever (or at least my team's MVP). Defensively, the guy has literarly been a tank. I mean, 10 seconds into the matches, and he's absolutely crushed at least 5 opponents. Though not only is he a defensive force, he has scored the most goals out of all of my side-kicks combined (and if it weren't for the Megastrikes, he would have more goals then Luigi). His ability to suddenly warp right through the goalie is awesome, and his electrifying skillshot is a sure goal if he's given even an inch of space. Dry Bones, you are my team's MVP!

Now onwards to Madden NFL 08. I'm playing through Superstar mode. My guy is a QB, and he is mega-awesome for a rookie! However, he would be even more awesome if these stupid Raiders would know how to pick the proper plays! Seriously, I'm not happy with the fact that I was drafted by the Oakland Raiders. I swear, I get the most stupidest plays ever. It's 3rd and long, and I have to do a running play. It's 4th and inches and I have to kick it away. It's 4th and inches to the goal line, and I have to do a field goal. However, my QB is also the holder, so I can't actually kick it. So guess what. HE FRIGGEN MISSES!!! The kicker misses, and he's not even behind the 10 yard line! I mean come on! I could kick that in my sleep! Overall, the game is a lot of fun (with rather superior online play, especially since you can send messages and don't have to deal with those stupid friend codes), and I'm enjoying it. I'm considering maybe buying it if I get the money. Though I can't believe how much these Raiders suck! They're even worse in a videogame then in real life! Now that's bad!

Well, you've probably heard of this already, but SSBB is confirmed to have online play (like that's a major surprise). Well, I'm glad it's there, this is the perfect game to have online play for. However, I'm worried. Online play has been extremely disappointing so far. If Nintendo messes this up... I won't be happy... Then again, SSBM is one of my favourite games, and it doesn't have online play, so I'll survive surely. However, this is one game where I hope they don't screw it up.

All Nintendo Needs is to Execute Properly...

The NES was absolutely awesome. It brought the whole videogame industry back and with a bang. It also had some of our most favourite childhood memories, unfortunately, it also gave us some bad nightmares. Then the SNES came out and was absolutely great. It improved upon all of the NES' flaws, making it possibly the greatest system yet. Then Nintendo made a jump to 3D with N64. It was a great system with some of the greatest games ever, but at the same time, Sony jumped into the market with the Playstation which was in ways a superior system. Okay, so Nintendo doesn't win one console race, that's okay. The N64 was still a very good system. Though then Nintendo came out with GC. It also wasn't a bad system with some exceptional games, but honestly, it was well on the bottom of the totoem pole, underneath the great PS2 and the new XBox with it's graphics and online play. So Nintendo wasn't on top of their game. Well, I guess you can't always be the best, but then you have to come out with something extraordinary to get back on top so you don't end up being like Sega. Well, Nintendo did just that. They came out with the Wii.

The Wii has the potential of being the greatest system of all time. Why? Cause it's truly a revolution. In a time when the only thing getting good is graphics, Nintendo came out with something completely new that caught the gaming world... No, the whole world by suprise. The new motion-sensing controls create a whole new dimension to gaming. Now virtuality becomes reality, and reality becomes virtuality. Instead of pressing the A or B button to swing your sword, you actually swing the sword. Instead of point with your analog stick, you point with your controller and feel like you're actually the one with the gun. Also, that new balance board can also add some amazing new things to gaming. For example, take snow/skateboarding. With the balance board, you could actually feel like you'r skate/snowboarding. If they did that, I would buy it (making it my first snow/skateboarding game I own). The wheel that's coming out with Mario Kart Wii could prove to also be a ton of fun (well, that has been done already). This system also has good backwards compatibility with GC games (unlike the 360 with XBox games). Speaking of that, this system also gives some serious joy to us old-school gamers with the Virtual Console. That's an automatic plus in my books. With the greatness of the past and the new revolutionary realistic gameplay, how can this system NOT be the best ever?

Nintendo, you guys really went out and seriously made something awesome. Though there is one thing... Just one thing that you guys need to do properly: Execution. The games need to start using the Wiimote capabilites to it's full potential. You also need more great games. A few doesn't cut it (like on the N64 and GC). You need to make great use of your peripherals. If that balance boardis only used for Wii Fitness, then I will be sorely disappointed.Though there is one area that Nintendo really needs to work on: Online play. For it's absolutely abysmal. I will not be satisfied until they clear up this stupid FC system. It's not fun to be typing in12+ numbers for every friend for everyconsole and game. It would be okay if there was only a console code. I would be perfectly fine with that. What's wrong with that Nintendo? How hard is that?! This is just one of those things that really brings your piss to a boil. Also, the online gaming is extremely bare. Some form of communication would be nice. Some more online games would also be nice. There are just a ton of things that could be improved. I've quoted Reggie a ton of times already, and I'll do it again. Reggie: "Yes, Nintendo is getting serious about online play." Actions speak louder then words Reg. I seriosuly have no idea how many times I've said that. Nintendo, quit making half-assed peripherals and games and start improving the online play. I'm serious, this is pissing me off.

Overall, if Nintendo can fix up the things I just mentioned, then I honestly believe we have the greatest system ever on our hands right now. This system can attract anybody and everybody. It can attract the casual crowd, and if Nintendo can fix up those problems (also good use of the difficulty settings would really help [I mean like easy, normal, and hard options]), it can also attract the hardcore gamers. Please Nintendo, just please, execute properly. Please...

Well, anyways, I rented two games today. Mario Strikers Charged and Madden NFL 08. If anybody wants to face me on either of those games, just leave me a message. I might not be the best competition at this point, but hey, it'll be fun, and I swear I won't quit (unless if I have a bad connection ofcourse). Also, I'm incredibly close to getting the coveted 3 star ranking on MKDS. I just need to get 3 stars on Special Cup on Mirror Mode. I'm so close... Though curse those blueshells and lightning bolts! I'm so close...

First Week of Highschool

It was actually pretty good. For this term, I have 6 courses: English (I own at this, and minimum homework), Active Living (everyday, obviously no homework and lots of field trips), Religious Studies (minimum homework, easy class), Computer Studies (I get to use flash and photoshop, the two best programs ever, no homework, I know flash already, lots of time and instruction to do everything, so easy class), Mechanics (little homework, shouldn't be a tough class), and electro-technology (minimum homework, might be a little tougher, we get to build an actual robot later on). So this is going to be an easy term, which means one thing: I need a job. Now. Cause next term is going to be hell. Math, Social Studies, Science, and Sports Medicine every friggen day. That won't be fun. So I better enjoy this term as much as I can and try to get as much money (especially with all the games comingout/already out).

Overall, senior high is FAR superior to junior high in just about every way. This past week made my past 3 years seem like hell.

Also, I finally got on myass and I decided to finish off Super Paper Mario. Rather emotional ending, espceially for a Mario game. Also, I'm closing in on getting the 3 star ranking on MKDS. Only 7 more cups to get the 3 star rating on (on Mirror Mode). Since I have quite a bit of free time (at least until I get a job), I'm up for a good race. I mean a good race. Those are just so rare to come by on Nintendo's half-assed online play (I might make another post on that in the near future if I feel like it).

School has begun...

And I'm not happy. Though that's life.

The Good

I friend who left my previous school 3 years ago is in my homeroom class.

It's exciting. I'm actuallywanting to learn something.

It's a short bus ride from my house, and it's in a large plaza, so job and shopping opportunities are certainly there.

The school has a bunch of it's own resources as well.

The Bad

Only a few of my friends are going to this school.

It's ****ing school!!!

Over-overcrowding. The school was packed this morning, and only my grade came to school this morning (the other grades came later).

I don't like waiting for buses. Actually, I don't like buses at all (though at least it's better then the charter buses at my previous school... God that was horrible).

Overall, I'm excited, but I'm also not happy that school has started. Right now, I don't have a real opinion, since today was pretty much go to your homeroom, grab the paper work, the teacher will describe a few things, attend an optional bbq, and go home.

2 New VC Games

Today, I downloaded Super Mario World and Super Metroid. These are two awesome games that I never owned (until now). I only got to play both for a few minutes, but I love them already.

Childhood Nightmares, VC Stuff, and a New Story *EDIT*

Today, I was playing through good old SMB. The game takes me back 12 years to when I first played the game. I would die lots, but along the way, I found many secrets and learned lots of tricks after much toil. Then eventually, I arrive at one of King Koopa's castles. I evade his fiery blasts an jump for that axe. I pull it out of it's pedstal, and the bridge disappears. King Koopa falls and gets cremated alive by the flaming infernoes which he was dumb enough to install into his throne area. Then I go deeper into the castle and find a Mushroom Retainer. The Mushroom Retainer then says something will haunt me for the rest of my life. It is the WORST line in videogame history! "Thank you Mario! But our princess is in another castle." Ugh, disgusting! Even though Nintendo was bringing the videogame market back, they didn't have to be ***es about it. It's absolutely the most awful thing you could say to somebody. "Good job, you just completely wasted your time! Now go and do it again!" **** you Toad, **** you!!!

I have yet to beat this game yet. Why? World 7-4. I could get that far easily as a 3 year old, yet I could never beat it. So then my parents sell the NES after I get an N64, and I go years with a void in my heart knowing that I never beat Super Mario Bros. All because of World 7-4. Shameful. However, then comes the amazing Wii where I can finally play SMB again! I finally have a crack of beating it! The only problem is that I have to visit all of my childhood memories. The awesome, and the abysmal. Tonight, for the first time in a long time, I finally reached World 7-4 again. Along the way, I visited many areas which brought back good old memories. Then comes World 7-4. As a kid, I never figured it out it was a maze. Though now I know that you have to go through in a certain way. And unfortunately, I didn't go through that certain way tonight. It really broke my heart, for I just had my best playthrough in a decade, only to have to encounter a childhood nightmare and lose to it. It's awful. Though the awfulness of this game somehow makes it great. It's hard to describe. It's awesome cause it set the standard, it brought the industry back, and because it has some of the most awful parts ever? This just proves that there are some things in life that you just can't explain.

Now I turn my attention to two games that I never played as a kid, but I recently found them on an emulator, and now I own it on the VC. AoL and Ninja Gaiden. Two awesome side-scrollers that I suck balls at. Do you want to know how bad I am at AoL? I have yet to beat the first temple. As for Ninja Gaiden, I'm only on Act 2-2 (I've gotten close to beating it several times though). However, because I suck at these games is what drives me to play them. I want to conquer my disabilites with these two games and I want victory. I want to beat that first temple in AoL! Today, I went further into it then I ever have. I found the Blue Candle today. I just really really hate those armos knights. As for Ninja Gaiden, screw those football players! I also really hate the enemies that just stand on the edge of the platform that you're trying to jmup to and they throw all this stuff at you. Though I swear, they may be laughing at me now, though I'll be laughing on the day I beat this game. One day, I will see the ending screen. the same goes for AoL. That day might not come in a year. Or two years. Or maybe even three years. But it will come. I will conquer these two games (along with SMB).

Anyways,I've started a new story at the Wolf O'DonnellUnion. It's called "Star Fox Origins."Ittakes a look to the past to seewhat happened to make the Star FoxTeam exist.Right now, I'm writing a part called "New Wings."If you're wondering how I am at writing, lets just say my scores in story-writing have went up. They have REALLY went up. In Grade 7, my averages for story writing was in the 70s-80s. It was pretty much the same in Grade 8. Though I was real casual with writing. Too casual. Then I took a look at my past. Back in grade 2, I wrote TONS of stories. Almost everyday, I would write down stories. Sci-fi was my genre back in Grade 2. I remember how I loved it, then I just seemed to wander away from it. I used to come up with tons of ideas, though I just never had that spark to follow through with them. Then this last year, I got that spark back. I realized that I loved to write. Within the past few years, I wrote a few fan fiction stories (mostly for Luigi, whom is the character I will forever stick with in the Mario series). I got better and better as I went along. Instead of running out of ideas, more of them were flowing in. I simply love to write. Becoming an author is one of my greatest dreams. I always have childish dreams to write some story that will burn Harry Potter into the ground (well, I'm kind of kidding here, but I do wish to write something amazing). So since I've been getting that spark for writing back, how have I been doing in school? Well, before summer vacation, we had to write the finals. However, these sets of inals were special. They were Provincial Achievement tests. These were the big times. These were some of my most important tests that I will ever write in my life. So how did I do with the story-writing portion of it? 100%. Yes, I got a perfect score on it (I also did awesome on the other tests as well, I really brought my A-game to these finals). The more I write, the more I love it. I just need to find a way to drive this spark even further. I have a real bad tendency to really love something, and then wander away from it and completely lose inspiration. An example is with flash animation. I was doing quite a bit of flash work. I hope plans and ideas. I had series to make. Though then I just completely lost interest in it. I occasionally do some animating here and there just for the hell of it, but I'm surely no full time animator. At this point in my life, I really hope the same doesn't happen with writing. I'mat a point in my life where I need to pick something and follow it. I've never been able to just pick one thing and follow through with it. Now it's time I did. Now it's time for me to find a way to drive my story-writing aspirations even further. Writing these little stories here and there are slowly but surely helping me.

Wow, this blog post got far larger then I expected. I just realized I've got some things accomplish. Man, whoever said blog-post writing was a bad thing?:PAgain, my new story Star Fox Origins can be found at theWolf O'Donnell Union. tHat union needs some more activity. Also, I'd like to mention that Juno54 is also an awesome writer. His Iron Fox series (which can also be found in that union) are just simply great and are definitely worth reading.

EDIT: Today, I beat World 7-4! Yeah, take that you childhood nightmare! I owned you! ...Except that a paratroopa owned me in World 8-2...:( I also finally beat the first temple in AoL! After much suffering and dying, I finally beat it! I also got to Act 3 on Ninja Gaiden! Woohoo! I really brough my game today to these classic side-scrollers.
