well im not sure about this whole hd situation but ive saw a proof of concept demo that ran a full 60 frames, supported high res texture and was still only about 64k, was an fps engine that used some kind new rendering technique that allowed them to compress the game a certain way, dont remember where i got it from though, i dont see why they could have something like that going on

harold and kumar is a near perfect transfer with the extra features too, not sure if its all the extra features or not but the color and resolution are great, every umd should look like that, slight catch is that the black level is so crisp the psp ghosting is a more noticable, and i think another good one would be wedding crashers although i didnt like the movie all that much, i borrowed the umd from a friend and it was just a great transfer from dvd to umd

actually the region encoding depends completely on the publisher, if they want they will region encode the movies, and most of the movies ive seen are region encoded

when i worked at gamestop, a guy came in complaining about his psp being defective and saying it would play his movies or games and he was sure it was the psp cuz he bought it used, it was like new btw the guy who owned it only sold it cuz he said he needed the money to help pay for his fiance's engagement ring, anyways i asked to look at it and he was ripping the games out of the cases and dropping them into the door, sry, i know this is a pretty pointless post but i thought id share to see if anyone might have encountered something similar lol, and the cases do seem to strain the umds

ok first off read the top of forum, mod talk isnt allowed, and second, u own the psp so yes u can legally modify it, however, downgrading/upgrading custom firmware is illegal because the people who wrte these custom firmwares are illegally modifying legally patented software writeen by sony corporation, these firmwares allow use of unsigned/unauthorized .PBP files on the handheld which is also illegal, the homebrew itself isnt, the firmware is and sadly use of any software written for use with the firmware is, as for backups/pirated copies, yes you are legally allowed backups of any software you own, the catch is it is illegal because of the fact that copy protction must be broken, same as cds, same as dvds, but the case with cds has become some what lenient due to the fact that you are legally allowed to have backups, but sharing anything copyright is illegal, off topic, anyways thats all pretty much what i had in mind, sry i couldnt shorten my post

well i just got back from frys and i didnt see it there, there used to be 4 huge racks of psp stuff and they moved everything around, a guy working there said they had tons of imported psp stuff they couldnt put out, my guess is they were just too lazy becuz they reduced four large racks to half a shelf with maybe 3 import title on display, he said he could go check but didnt seem willing so i just left it at that, sry guys

i know this might sound dumb but make sure the hotspot you setup on your psp will actually connect first, a few friends asked me about it with similar problems and it turned that their psps were picking up the wireless networks but they werent able to connect, when it happened to me i usually turned off wlan then completely shut off my psp and then turned it back on, then wlan and it seemed fine, try to get the network going before trying to update

when you format any kind of memory (hdd, flash) you will lose a bit of space because the computer or what ever device you format it with will write information so that it will understand it later, its usually allocation table, volume name, etc. hope that helps
