@hermitkiller: Because it was a PC game first. MMORPGs started on PCs, and continue to thrive on them. FFXI and FFXIV both started on PC first, with the console versions coming later.
@Lacerz: Not sure how the console versions handle that, but everything you said is absolutely not an issue with using an X360 controller on PC. Switching to nav is as easy as hitting the start button, and the d-pad handles targeting in combat. Switching to chat... well, on PC I just start typing. I have no idea how you would do it with just the controller on a console, but based on the little typing I've done in other games or apps, it sounds like it'd be a royal pain as much as its done in an mmorpg. TBH, the game is too fast paced for text chat to be a great option anyways. The hard content pretty much requires voice chat if you want to push it early on.
SE has actually done an amazing job of making the HUD very fluid with controllers; something no other MMORPG has really gotten right.
@SonictheHeg: That's because minimal work is going to be done to remaster it. They'll use uncompressed textures, and anti-aliasing, and that's about it. It'll still look fine on a phone screen though.
The only difference here is removing some scenes and dialogue, then mixing up the rest. They even shaved frames off of some of the shots for some reason.
Wow. I am not amazed that this exists, because it's been done several times over in other mmo style games. What amazes me is the price being so damn high, and it doesn't even take you to the level cap. So what's even the point? You're paying for something that's not even really much of a shortcut.
A lot of people complaining about the white washing should take a moment to consider the intent of making this film. This isn't a historical piece by any stretch of the term. It is an american take on the myths/legends of that time. From that perspective, I really don't care what race plays the roles. If this was attempting to tell an actual piece of history, that would be different, because then accuracy matters. This is just a dramatization of a story.
Many countries around the world tell the stories of myth and legend from all over. In every case, those studios go local with the stars. I don't see why Hollywood seems to not get a pass here. This is dumb summer entertainment, and people shouldn't waste their energy arguing over the racial accuracy.
