C&C has gone steadily downhill ever since EA acquired Westwood. Red Alert 3 was bad, and C&C 4 was a complete turd.

Red Alert 3 was closer to Red Alert 2 then what C&C4 was to the other previous C&C Tib series but it has been dying slowly over the years. And can EA please finally let the SAGE engine (or RNA for the newer titles) die, I've never truly been a fan of it and sure it has some powerful features but it never really felt right to me.

I think it was a wrong idea for them to make the last game in the Tiberian storyline a totally different game in terms of gameplay aspects. The beta also left a poor impression on me with a lack of a tutorial, stable net-code and enjoyable gameplay. Starcraft 2 beta, on the other hand, left me eager and excited for the retail thing to come out.the_ChEeSe_mAn2

I agree, as a game on its own it's probably an OK game (I say probably as I didn't play it long enough to try and find out) but it's not C&C. We waited 15 years to hear the end of the Tiberium story and then they go and change the whole idea behind C&C. Shame on you EA. I bought each C&C tile twice (some even 3 times) and I couldn't be bothered to play C&C4 past the 4th mission.

Dawn of War 2 did the same, sure it's a good game but it's now what Dawn of War 1 was. I applaud companies trying new things, it's what keeps this industry growing but don't false advertise it as something else. Call it Command & Conquer Tactics or Warhammer Tactical Assault or whatever but don't give it the name of a previous series and change almost every detail about it. Sure I'm venting but with good reason.

StarCraft 2 is much closer to the Original StarCraft game and it shines with tributes and reminders of SC1.

No such game.

I'm beginning to see that, even if the fighting is minimal it would be good. She enjoyed The Settlers IV, that was more economical based and not too much fighting. She also enjoyed Spellforce any other suggestions?

What games are similar to The Settlers but with no warefare & fighting?

My girlfirend likes playing these type of games but she doesn't like having to fight, she doesn't like turn based games so Civilization is out (there is also to much fighting in that game) and she doesn't like Sci-Fi so any space games are out? She already tried the new The Settlers but didn't like.

What can you reccomend?

Free Download Manager (Yes I know it sounds dodge, how can something be free these days)

http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/download.htm

But it does work, no spam, no irraitating ads and it helps accelerate some downloads and even provides segemented downloading.

It was no mod though it was a game itself. Wish I could remember better so I could describe it more clearly.

Hi

The other day me and some friends was talking about older games and I recalled a game that for the life of me I can't remember the name.

Each player starts of on a small island, divided into a grid, then you have to build up your base and build missile silos to attack the other's base and also anti missile defenses to protect your own. I also vaguely remember having a mech some where I think the goal was to kill the other players' mech. It was in isometric view and it was round about 1997 - 2000 that the game came out. It's not Total Annihilation
