huh? FFXI had shared servers between PS2/PC/360? i always thought each system had its own specific.

I would probably get it if it came to consoles.

So which do you guys think is the least/most likely to happen here in the US? The president must be copen about it and it cannot be a secret. For me its,

Most likely - Athiest president

least likely - Muslim president

i cant speak for the US but in my area, seems like less and less people are going to church and shying away from religion. I'd even say its likely within the next 20 years.

Anyway which do you guys think?

I thought it looked really good. Best game of the show was like you said, DK but we didnt get to see much of that so it makes sense. I might start to get the ball rolling on the official EM hype.

This only reminded me of how awesome Shadowrun was. A sequal announcement would have set E3 on fire for me.

I havent played it in a while, does anyone know how healthy the community is?

**SPOILER WARNING** Expect tons of spoilers in this thread

So guys, thread title says it all. What are your favourite videogame moments? This can range from the title screen perhaps? a gameplay segment, a notable character, a boss fight, a town, a setpiece coupled with soundtrack, a cutscene or even something that was so bad you found it hillarious.

The only thing i think should be excluded from this is online moments (no "killed 10 guys with AWP!!" sort of things) and saying something like "chapter 10 in HL2". Refer to the specific moment. The final thing is that it must be from a game, so nothing from the system wars. If you cant think of 5 right now then 3 is fine, or as much as you can do. Here are mine.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5. Kameo - Troll barrage -

Photobucket

Kameo along with PDZ were the main reasons i got a 360 at launch and it really impressed me. That was untill i reached the part where you're at the badlands and must get past 100s of trolls, that was when i realised we were in next-gen. Sure you could just stamp on them but the moment coupled with timing left me with my jaw hanging wide.

4. Sonic Adventure 2 - City Escape -

Photobucket

E3 2000? or E3 2001? I really cant remember but i saw SA 2 and my mind was blown. The graphics looked like a generational leap over SA1 and sonic was moving so fast and looked big. What made it worse was that i didnt get it untill 4 months after launch so i had 4 long months of my friend telling me how amazing the game was and what his Chao got up to. The day finally came (my b-day) and i popped this bad boy in. It was all that i had imagined. I kept pausing the game several times just to take it all in, was overwhelemd.

3. Majoras Mask - Intro -

Photobucket

From what i've gathered, most people do not like the typical Zelda opening. A young boy in a forest, you do a few typical village tasks and this extends for a few hours. I love that. I really love the come before the storm and the peaceful aspect, really shows Links just an ordinary kid. But as we all know, MM changed that. Literally from 5 minutes of starting the game, you've met the main antagonist and have already been thrown into a set of unfourtunate events. The instant you got control of the game, you have no idea what to do. I mean your goals clear but there hasnt been any tutorial, the musics beating fast and you're under pressure. Definately got the heart pumping.

2. FFX - Yuna and Tidus Kiss scene

Photobucket

FFX was my first video game opera and it was one hell of an emotional ride. I know its pretty shunned upon with all its cheesiness but i was thoroughly emersed. I WANTED them to be together and not let anything happen to them. Although you know what has to happen prior to this scene. So seeing this was really heart-warming.

1. Majoras Mask - Happy Mask Salesman -(spoilers avoided for the sake of Foxhound_fox).

From this

Photobucket

To this

Photobucket

In a few seconds.

First what i loved about him is how in OOT his role was so minimal, just one of those shop owners and for him to become such a main pillar of MM, well that was bloody brilliant from Nintendo. What makes him and every one of his appearances my favourite moment is that you really did not expect him to be like how he was. I mean his name starts with happy for goodness sakes and with what OOT established of him it felt like one of those moments where a neighbour is the nicest person in the world and is later revealed to be a serial killing monkey raping communist. Nothing like that but his insanity is shown when Link fails his task and his constant attempt at bargaining shows him to be a desperate man.

These are mine. What are yours SW?

EDIT: Do i have to put a 56k warning on the thread title?

All wii games look bad... It's old tech.i5750at4Ghz

Comments like this always annoy me.

Every single gen (except maybe the 4th) produces beautiful looking games but in hingsight, they dont look so good. That is untill the end of last gen. At the end of last gen we reached the point where no matter how far into the future we look back, certain games cannot look bad. Games like Half-Life 2, Conkers bad fur day and Wind Waker.

The whole notion of 'this game now looks bad because its last gen/old tech' needs to end. Sure you can say, X game doesnt look as good as a PS3/360 game but to just say it looks bad altogether just because of hardware (when it looks good).....is lame. A good game looks good, regardless of platform.

This isnt just directed at you but all the guys that have said this in the past.

That doesnt mean much if the best PS3 exclusives still look better than the best multiplats.

But i agree on the first part. The 360 is no way near maxed out and its pretty obvious as we see games looking better each year (exclusive or multi). Truth is, no system is ever maxed out since gens are always cut short.

I bet if the original xbox had another 2-3 years on the market (instead of the pitiful 4 it had overall), it would have been able to keep up with the 360/PS3 in the early years, just look at the cancelled Dead Rising for proof. The Wii is probably the only system in history that has the potential to get maxed out since we started at 50%. Ok il stop there, getting a little off-topic :P

People are shown three rooms and sword play from SS and think they know everything about it

I cant wait to hear all the complaints once its shown not to be the same old. Im guessing it will be the art next.

Well of course it will. New hardware almost always sells good initially regardless.

Lets just see how things pan out 6 months down the line. Im expecting Kinect to sell pretty well.
