Nintendo said it leading up to E3 and ill say it again now. What you saw at E3 was just a tech demo giving people a feel of what to expect. They werent showing parts of the game but were only demonstrating mechanics. Thats why the demo just starts randomly and is secluded to a few arena's.

You probably dont remember but sort of like what we saw of Heavenly Sword at E3 2006 which lead everyone to believe it was an arena game where you fight waves and waves of dudes. Completely wrong. Of course no-one thinks that hopefully. Im just saying, lets atleast wait for an official trailer showing off the actual game. The one we got at E3 was pretty much a gameplay montage of the tech demo

It's not that we are jumping the gun, I agree with everything you say, it's just overall, the feeling is gone man. They need to get back to their roots and actually hammer out a heartfelt game that uses the technology to its fullest, remember the way OOT utilized 64-bit technology in a way that made the game unlike anything ever before, the new game just doesn't seem like that based on the overall hype.

i'd agree if what i believe we saw was anymore than a part of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vu5dPtBiu0E or this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjjKy_cn0Ik

Thats the problem with showing of game mechanics first, its usually not very exciting. I feel that all Nintendo have shown us is the sword play (and a few other items) and from what i can gather, its really awesome. I dont think they were trying to give us an indication of the games atmosphere and feeling.

But i understand what you mean and if i thought Nintendo were used the E3 demo as a tool to show the actual game, then i'd be agreeing with you.

EDIT: Oh man, i just watched the first clip through. The forest temple music is still at the top of videogame music. And it still creeps me the hell out.

The key to not feeling dissapointed about these conferences is to not get hyped at all. Its really simple but everyone falls for it.

Nothing will come out of this and if you think it will, you're just kidding yourself. Expect an extension of the E3 games shown and like SolidTY said, a fixed price point.

The PC never was in a bad situation, dont let the SW console propoganda fool you.

Its cool anyway, we'll all be full PC gamers by 2015 anyway.

Looks like Ubisoft doesnt like money. This is undoubtley right up the Wiis ally.

Just watched the video and im pretty dissapointed. The game looks really great and something ill most likely buy. Im just a little bit dissapointed they arent making a 3D platformer. Rayman 2 is my favourite platformer of all time. Hell i even bought a Dreamcast copy a few months ago despite having it on the N64.

Based on that video, looking good.

I havent played any of Sony's big 3 platformers on the PS2 (Jak, Ratchet and Sly) but this was always the least appealing to me. Nothing wrong with it, i just dont like it which is strange because id normally love a game like this.

Now the Jak series is something i need to get into. Hopefully next is a Jak Collection. After a Team ICO one of course.

Its the same, thats why split-screen games are 80% of the time, worse looking than single player.

The other 20% when it looks on par is because the single player is made to look worse to match split-screen (e.g. Gears of war).

I was actually really suprised with how good Gears 3 looked, didnt think it would be such a significant improvement over the 2nd (and im not being blinded by the lush new environments and character updates). Better than KZ3........its really close, much closer than Gears 2 and KZ2. But overall i think KZ3 looks slightly better.

Gears 3 looks more appealing to me though. I dont hate the KZ style, i adored KZ2, im just not feeling the snowy environments. Hopefully we still get a good dose of dark thundery skies with war torn streets.
