SEGA started with the CD's with the SEGA CD. They then made a full CD system with the Saturn. It came out in Japan a whole month before the PSX(correcting myself from earlier) and the PSX was inspired from the CD idea anyway. It was originally going to be an ad-on to the SNES. Nintendo, however; was unsure of Sony's intentions and broke ties with them. After that Sony decided to come back in the industry with their own system which is the PSX we all know today.

Now as far as that whole Analog sticks thing. Anyone remeber this?

Perhaps the mighty cows have forgotten that NINTENDO first had the analog stick with the N64. The PSX didn't have it until later. Don't worry, though I got MUCH more coming in a second. >:]

As for your comment about SONY just sitting back and waiting for third party support, yes they do get great third party support but they also has great first party games IMO. Games like GT, Rachet and clank, God of war, jax and daxter, killzone as well as new IP's like heavenly sword, Uncharted and Infamous.

It's funny you mentioned third party support cuz the third party support for nintendo is crap!!!

I have to agree on first party. Nintendo's first pary games were way over rated. And sony doesn't get enough reognition for it's fist party efforts.

Shadow of the Colossus, ICO, Ratchet and Clank, Grand Turismo, Jak and Daxter, God of War. Come on! They tottally stomped Nintendo last gen in first party support. But simply becauseSony doesn't have Pokemon, Mario and Zelda eveyone over looks Sony's first party titles.

Now as far as what you say Vashkey...

I don't know if I would agree with Nintendo's 1st party titles being overrated because that would imply that they weren't constantly being bashed by idiots like Insomnia just because they were Nintendo games.

You named some good ones, though. SOTC, Ico, Rathet and Clank and GOW are definitely good ones. But, let me once again point out that the Ratchet series is a creation of INSOMNIAC GAMES. They weren't even a part of Sony originally. If Sony didn't luck out and get them on their side you probably wouldn't even be able to say that. Same applies to Jak. Gran Turismo is owned by Forza any day of the week. Hands down. Graphics are just as good. Less cars, but BETTER cars. Better physics, and that online play that people won't stop screaming about for every damn game that comes out. GT has nothing over Forza except that silly little wheel. Also, as god as those titles were that you named I have to say that only GOW and maybe SOTC is on the same level as the top titles from Nintendo last gen. Zelda(you mentioned, but got downplayed just because of the way Link looked), Mario Sunshine(same, but got downplayed just because he was cleaning paint off of sh*t), SSBM(Sony doesn't have a 1st party game that compares to it in the same genre), and the one that you seemed to conviniently forget to mention: METROID PRIME and METOID PRIME 2.

Nintendo games have to get through all the "kiddy games" bashing before they could even be considered overrated. So, for you to say that they are is just nonsense I'm afraid. :/

Oh, and the only one that you mentioned that was actually "overlooked" would be Ico. SOTC got plenty of attention after people realized how dumb they were for overlooking Ico and R&C, GOW, and Jak got the amount of attention that they each deserved. Gran Turismo got overlooked for being complete rehash and still not having an online mode when Forza did.

No, but Sega brought it to the public eye as a new medium for games. And they DID make it a standard anyway. The SATURN came out BEFORE the PSX and the N64! So, even if the PSX didn't come out SEGA still would have already done it. Man, some of you all are just...you know what. I'll hold my tongue on that one. :)
