well, wow is pretty much a single player RPG

Gxgear

Have you ever played World of Warcraft. Because you couldn't be more wrong there.

For years actually, but unlike you, I actually also play other MMORPGs and look into them. A game world where literally NOTHING is progressed via player actions... well that's actually worse then a single player RPG. WoW currently is just a glorified social networt game. Blizzard has gone out of their way to make sure that players can do nothing to affect their game world, wasn't always like this of course... e.g. AQ opening where a server had to work together.

Just look at the DK starting area, a complete single player experience. The phasing used makes sure that every time you go onto a new quest you would change instances so that you would be blocked off from MORE people.

They have made sure that leveling is a complete single player experience.

Just look at the PVP and PVE system now, it isn't about team work anymore, it is about a group of random people you will NEVER meet again coming together for mutual benefit to grind for points/tokens for more (ultimately useless) gear. Hey! Who needs to make friends in games! At least it is faster to find groups so we can grind more badges!

There is no community in WoW anymore, Blizzard has made sure of that. MMORPGs are based on the actions of the community. In WoW you cannot make friends (hence why the community in WoW is so anti-social, a main reason is because the game itself is anti-social), now you have to play with your existing friends, because there is not gameplay that is based around making friends within game itself (pretty much, gameplay that forced you to make friends).

The next expansion is completely based on this philosopy, no one chooses if, how or when the game completely changes... It just happens because Blizzard chooses to make it so.

So obviously WoW has been the ONLY MMORPG you have played, otherwise you'd know what a real MMORPG was.

I love it that when it comes talking about third party Wii sales the only ones people can seem to stuff in faces as not selling are small Japanese niche titles that get zero marketing a part from nerds talking about them via blogs/forums.

Really, I know it hurts PS3/360 fans that are also fans of these small niche titles (since most PS3/360 owners couldn't care less) that the most popular console gets these niche titles and you guys don't (also because these niche titles are easier to make for the Wii because the Wii users similar graphics/etc as the PS2 and last gen), BUT GET OVER IT.

If Okami, a PS2 port (and not a GOOD PS2 port, just a decent one) that itself didn't get much attention on the PS2 (yes, Okami, a niche Japanese title DIDN'T SELL WELL ON THE PS2 JUST LIKE NICHE TITLES DON'T SELL WELL ON THE WII) can STILL manage to do sell fairly well on the Wii, and any niche title can IF THEY ARE SMART ABOUT HOW THEY SELL IT.

MadWorld = Sucked. No point in bringing that up. Heh, at least it was funny.

Seriously, small niche Japanese titles not selling well... WHAT KIND OF WORLD DO WE LIVE IN?! THE WII SUCKS BECAUSE OF THIS!!! QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ These games should have been released on the PS3 so they can NOT sell well on there!

In the broad sense of the word they are consoles, but generally you know whether or not a person is including handhelds when they discuss consoles and for the most part most people mean home consoles when talking consoles.

Handheld games are just as good as console ones, DS probably has the best library and in general is the greatest console this gen so far. New and interesting genres and a large range of great games. Most games this gen on home consoles are just recycled (e.g. recycled aspects from the PC) with minor bits tagged on (e.g. achievements) or aren't to that industry-changing standard.

It is good, but like others have stated, overhyped. Completed it on hardest mode, but after the storyline was done I didn't feel any need for it since all the other content was just doing the same styled stealth/combat aspects again and again. Would have been nice if they added in extra, e.g. a type of multiplayer or an editor so one could make their own levels to place online (bad examples but you know what I mean).
