Intermittent fault so im scared of sending my 360 away in case they dont detect it. It also makes games unplayyable becasue the action is massively obscured.
When playing gears of war the colored squares and gray lines will appear suddenly on the screen. When i back out of the game to the menu the squares are bigger and there are less lines, when i back out into the dash there are weird effects such as letters bouncing up and down and dots.
In Gears it seems to occur much more often in single console co-op and sometimes online. When i first playe Gears in single player this didnt happen although it recently started hapening.
The faults also occur on the Crackdown Demo and the Splinter Cell Double agent Demo, which is where it happeded first. In Crackdown It seemed to happen then stop a couple of times before continuing to the end of the demo (which hurt my eyes)
In the Graw 2 demo the effects are differant radial lines fromt he middle of the screen some of them end in short green lines.
Even more strangely ive played over 10 hours of oblivion on this console and this fault has never occured.
Aslo Oblivions perevents the player from telling their own story as all sense of achievement is robbed from them by autoscaling loot. So pretty much everyone will have the same story of getting glass armor ie i hit level 30 and it just appeared.
Oblivion should be driven into the ground to prevent games like it from coming out in the future.
I wholeheartedly agree we need some proper RPG's.
Also i wouldnt call MMORPG's true RPG's, Shock 2 is more RPG than WOW. at the end of the day MMORPG's are piss poor replacement.
I yearn for the Glory days of Black Isle such a short few years ago. On a side note im all for FPRPG's Arx fatalis was insane, allthough too much of a dungeon hack for my tastes. (At the end of the day we need more cyberpunk games)
Lets see a ps3 and a decent HDTV for £800- 900, £1200 with surround sound.
You have to consider the fact that the latest consoles are totally gimped withought low response time decent HD tvs wheras pretty much and £200+ monitor will do 16 X 10 widescreen.
But then you consider games PC= £30 360/PS3=50 therefore for every so for every 10 full price games you buy thats £200 saving
In the long run everything balances out.
On a side note anyone concerned about the fact that Games For windows must have gamepad support, and the fact that Shadowrun and Halo 2 both introduced auto aim for 360 vs PC.
The cross platform homogenised mouse gimping doesant bode well. Allthough Bioshock for 360 has a seperate interface team so the version unlike Oblivion should work well regardless of format
(Just had to let that out)
count yourself lucky that its not the GPU fan randomly stopping working, the smell of burning from an 8800 Gts is mentally traumatising, lucky it was only 4 days after I bought it
But you also have to remember that in some cases dual GPU's arent that feasable. Especially in the case of two Geforce 8800Gts or Gtx, major heat issues
how would you know that?
I got 32 bit vista 2 days ago an im a bit concerned that i should have got 64 bit as i have oem which means that ill have to shell out another 88quid if i want 54 bit allthough i do want to still be able to run plaescape torment et al.
Still 64 bit is the future it allows way more ram although the home basic is capped artificially at 8 gigs.
If your worried about vista ive got 32 bit and ive had a few crashes so far and iot only seems to be when HL" episode one and stalker load or save
425 quid is 850 dollars its ludicrous. + I knew this would happed because it took a couple of weeks for pr-orders to sell out.
+ For american PS3 fanboys this is a worry since Europe has traditionally had the highest ratio of sony- other consoles.
