PSN is good enough for me. I'd rather do normal offline multiplayer than play with someone I don't know that's a million miles away.

But still... On Live you're only paying to play online. Yes you've got the servers and whatnot that routes people to each other which MS needs to support, but why do they have to charge for it when everybody else does it for free? So, you're not really getting anything new.

On top of that, the $50 a year for X amount of years would likely make the 360 more expensive than the PS3, and price is one of the major criticisms of the PS3.

So, meh. Live may be better, but I'd rather stick with PSN and Home when it comes out.

Normally I wouldn't agree here, but judging by the guy's name, I would actually have to agree.

Oh, and why is this in system wars?

As a hardcore PS360 gamer. Im huge into graphics, shooters and online multiplayer.. News that the Wii is selling so so well really scares me as Online shooter/hardcore type gamer.. Im afraid if this trend continues we will slowly start seeing the end of PS3/360 type gaming and if thats the case i will really give up gaming for good or might go PC.. I am waaaay too spoiled on games like Warhawk,Halo 3, Gears, Resistance and COD4 to give all that up for something like.. the wii. I just could not do it.

Those Wii commercials are making me mad.. The wii is just so gimmicky its not even funny. The wii has no games with any replay value whatsoever.. Single player only games just will not cut it this gen... Im really happy for Wii owners that the console is selling well, but as a hardcore gamer im really really starting to get worried about the future of gaming if the Wii continues its trend

And there's the problem with most of the so called "hardcore" gamers nowadays. Instead of caring about good games, all they care about are pretty pictures and killing people online. That reminds me of a comic in the back of one of PSM's issues concerning the PS4 and how so few were release, you had to kill people to get one, but the controller doesn't even have any buttons and the games play themselves.

The PC can do many great things.

Very nice graphics.

Immersive play experience.

Great online play.

Cheaper games!

But overall, it just isn't very worthy to be entrusted with the task of playing games full-time.

Because of MAJOR design problems.

The biggest one is that new games won't work on older models. Just like how console games won't work on older models. Try playing Halo 3 on the original Xbox, MP3 on the GC, or Heavenly Sword on the PS2. I bet it didn't work, did it?

I just got the latest DS game called Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. But not a DS Lite.

All I had was an old ugly DS from 2004 (ugh).

And to my suprise....I could play it!!!!!!

Same thing with mah new PSP game Star Wars: Battlefront Renegade Squadron. It worked on my old PSP!!!!!

But look what happens....

I bought a copy of World in Conflict. It did not work on mah PC!!!

WHY!?!

WHY!?!

THIS CAN'T GO ON LIKE THIS!!!

If you think buying a $500 video game console is too much, imagine buying a $500 graphics card every eight months!!!! You don't have to buy one that often, and PCs do a bajillion times more things than a console so a PC is well worth the money.

SOMEONE IS GONNA PAY!!!!!!!

This is just one of the reasons PC gaming should be fixed. What are the rest? You said the PC had major design problems which is plural, which to me means you should give more reasons. Or CAN you?

It's sad when a sheep's only response to Halo 3 is Zak and Wiki. WTH is that game anyway? How can that game be considered playable by anyone over the age of 4? Enlighten me!Calo34

Because a game doesn't have to have sex, blood, guts, and guns to be fun for adults.

Wow... There were tons of them at my local Gamestop. Tons of PS3's as well... Also saw someone buy the last Wii they had, which is the first time I've ever seen one on sale anywhere besides the one I've already bought :P

I'm wondering....

If people are struggling with paying 5$ a month, how in the hell did they manage to pay for a PS3 / Wii / PC?

Paying for your internet is already much more than that a month...

I think it has its problems, but XBL is a nice stable service and I enjoy using it... I just don't see the big deal of 5$ a month.

mingo123

those are all good points, but $5 a month is worse than you think.

after 5 years of haveing a 360 you spent $250+ just to play games online.

$250 for 5 years is NOTHING

It's the principle of it. If you bought a stove, pots and pans, food, and have a gas line coming to your house, you've bought everything you need to start cooking. How would you feel though, if the stove's manufacturer started making you have to pay money to cook after all of that? Sure, you could probably afford it but wouldn't you be pissed off? It's not like they need that money from the feeor anything :|

Stove = 360

gas line = internet connection

pots and pans = cables, routers, modem, etc

food = the games

As far as platforms that games appear on, most people only care about whether or not they can play them.

Lab392

QFT. Thats all it really comes down to.

well if you put it like that, then why by a 360? Because the only reason to actualy get one is because of the games...but if i can get them on my PC why bother?

most of those games can only run well on high end PC's. to do that, you'll have to pay a lot of money on upgrades, or thousand(s) on a gaming computer. this costs more money than a PS3.

Yes, but you do know that games are still cheaper, you don't have to pay for online multiplayer, game quality is better, PC versions of multiplats tend to be better, and that you can do a bajillion other things on a PC that none of the consoles can do, right? And that you're given the choice of the kb/m OR a regular controller?

There's one thing that's always guaranteed: If the topic has "unbiased discussion" anywhere in it, it is most likely biased.

Is anyone else other than me tired of these kinds of posts? And does anyone else wonder why these people who make these topics are too lazy to push a few buttons and do the research themselves?
