Same thing happened to me. My ps3 isn't even a month old. Sadly, mine was a Christmas gift and the person who gave it to me doesn't have the receipt anymore....and they paid cash. I called Sony and went through all their monkey motions of upgrading and system restoring. It didn't work. And because it's not under warranty due to no proof of purchase, it's just like flushing 500 dollars down the toliet. Not only that, but we bought tons of games and extras for the system. Sony offered to charge me 149 dollars for a refurbish exchange..but I don't think I want them getting any more of my family's money. We are just going to chuck the piece of crap into the dumpster...where it belongs.brokenps3
