Besides the obvious DNF, Starcraft 2.

Look at the recent SW post about Japanese pollers saying FFXIII was there second favorite game of 2009. I trust pollers much more than reviewers.
Don't like the list. Seems like a bias toward ps3 than wii. And towards RPG in general

glad this game got love. I hated it (I think I wrote a topic about how average the game is) but got addicted to it like 10 hours after playing it more.

That's becasue
1. Xboxs in Japan are few and far between. Notice that they didn't release FFXIII on Xbox in Japan becasue of this. PS3 and Wii are the big consoles in Japan.
2. JRPGs. Duh, obviously RPGs are the best selling in Japan.
HD Kingdom Hearts would be weird. I think it will be 360/PS3 multiplat, though.
PS3 exclusivity wouldn't be smart, since doesn't Kingdom Hearts sell better in the US than in Japan?
Cherokee_Jack
It only sells better here becasue we have more people. A larger percentage of people in Japan play KH and Square has been known to play favorites with Japan, like with KH Final Mix.
Uh...2000-2010 makes a decade :?...a lot of awesome games came out in those ten years as well ;). Oh, great...you just made me feel old again :P. DethSkematik
Actually 2000-2009 was the '00 decade, this is the '10 decade.
1. Valve has 250 employees.
2. Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Guerrilla Games, and Media Moleculeall have less employees than Valve, so that isn't the reason.
The real reason is becasue they develop games directed towards Americans. Becasue the only place in the world where the Xbox is overwhelmingly more popular is in the US, if they only develop for one system, then they would make the most money out of Xbox and PC combo.
Gundam: Crossfire.
I hate to be the person that points out the obvious but...is this the 1 millionth thread about this?

Well, it is the first thread of the new year. Gotta bring in the new year with more pointless arguments.
I noticed that the most popular installment of a huge franchise such as Final Fantasy seem to be strongly loathed by long time fans of the franchise who has been playing the game franchise prior to its most popular installment's release. Here are very BIG EXAMPLES I NOTICE:
1)The Elder Scrolls
The fourth installment,The Elder Scrolls 4:Oblivion,is the highest selling installment of this RPG series and is considered by many casual gamers to be the best WRPG ever. But long time fans who have been with this series since the first title,The Elder Scrolls Arena, considers this installment to be the worst in the whole franchise.Instead most long time Elder Scrolls fans agree that The Elder Scrolls 2:Daggerfall is the best in the series.
2)Fallout
Fallout 3 has been a mega hit, having sold over 4 millionand is now beloved by casual gamers. But fans who have played the first 2 Fallout games back in the 90s really hate Fallout 3 and calls it a disgrace to the Fallout franchise. They will say notthing but bad things about Fallout 3.
3)Resident Evil
Resident Evil 4 is the top selling installment in the RE franchise and is considered by critics to be the best in the series. But longtime RE fans strongly dislike this game and criticize it for taking out key features of the franchise.Long time RE fans often say this game is the worst in the series.
4)Final Fantasy
As you all now,Final Fantasy 7 sold over 7 million copies world wide and is considered by many people who were introduced to the franchise by this installment to be the best RPG ever. But long time Final Fantasy fans who have been with the FInal Fantasy since the SNES days hardly calls Final Fantasy even near one of the best in the franchise.Instead most longtime FF fans consider Final Fantasy 4 or Final Fantasy 6 hand down the best in the series.Long time FF fans will not hesitate at bashing this FF7 and will often post forums about how Final Fantasy 7 is overrated, how it sucks, how it is the worst in the franchise, and every other insults they could post about FF7.
Any of you noticed this too? That long time fans of a franchise tends to strongly dislike the most popular installment of the franchise and will do everything they can to bash and insult the most popular installment of their beloved franchise?

For each entry
1. Elder Scrolls 4. I haven't played previous entries, but my friend has, and for ES4, they took out a lot of character cusomization options and, while 4 did have loads of quests, had no great storyline, unlike ES3. It is regarded as amazing becasue of the immensity of the world. My friends favorite is Morrowind. Note, I have never played any other Elder Scrolls games. I have only played ES4.
2. Fallout 3. It takes no skill to play this game. Pause, V.A.T.S., Done. Note, I have never played any other Fallout games. I have only played Fallout 3.
3. Resident Evil 4. It is loathed by RE fans because this is the first RE that isn't survival horror. Play the first 3 REs, and you will be scared at least some of the time. RE 4 & 5, not at all. 4 & 5 are Capcom's lame attempts at pleasing the testosterone filled video game industry. Note, I have only played bits of RE 4 & 5, but I have watched all of the main series and a couple of spinoffs played by my friend. Watched multiple times.
4. Final Fantasy. This is simply a case of of what I like to call "single digit age memories". When your 9, when most of the gamers probably played the game, everything waas much more magical, becasue, well, they were 9. Also, they confuse best with most revolutionary. Let us use LoZ as an example. Many long time LoZ fans claim A Link to the Past was the best OMG. A Link to the Past was revolutionary for its time, but would you rather play that or OoT or TP. Note, I have never played FF 4, 6, or 7. I have played ALttP, OoT, and TP.
